Respectfully, I disagree with your view the Soundtrack has it's own page, the DVD has it's own page. The books need their own page, at least one page with a list of all books and a small commentary on them, just like the soundtrack page. Or delete them all to make it consistent. The Shinra / ShinRa conection does not belong on the main page IMHO. It is a very controversial theory that appeared in ONE interview in 2003 on the book you just deleted. It belongs on that book page and nowhere else Renmiri 19:34, 11 February 2006 (UTC)Renmiri
I liked your changes but now the page layout of FFX is completely different from FFX2. They should match IMHO. Care to do the honors ? Renmiri 22:58, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
_ _ Well, perhaps the first 'graph of the
Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII) article, on which i based that renaming decision, is just braindead. And if that is what yr project standards say, IMO they need some wider oversight, as your failure to cite the overall WP standards documents, the cluelessness of
User:Hibana in citing Sephiroth, and your failure to clean up after your moves hints. But even without my being the one to blow the whistle, my interest in FF has already been overtaxed, so i am unlikely to annoy you again.

A Link to the Past has put all the Final Fantasy VI character articles up for deletion because they only appear in one game. I've already put a note of this on the Project page and the FFVI Talk page (A Link to the Past deleted it). I figured you would know whether or not this a new policy change or if A Link is just being a jerk. ~ Hibana
I've already ADMITTED I should have taken it up with the Project. Additionally, I did not say you called me a jerk, I was referring to Hibana.
My opinion has changed since then, and that opinion has changed to the point where I wish to transwiki both Advance Wars and Final Fantasy VI articles. I did not have the opinion of transwiking when I posted the AfDs. - A Link to the Past (talk) 04:16, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
I apologize for taking an unrelated argument to the project. But in all seriousness, I have to wonder about Ereinion, as he welcomed the user and defended the user. I'm not pointing any fingers until I can actually back it up, so I won't discuss it anymore, not until I get it checked out if this user is connected to a user on the project. - A Link to the Past (talk) 08:43, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
You can rest assured that I am not accusing anyone of anything, not until I can confirm they are using a sockpuppet (which I will then bring this to the administrator). I already apologized for bringing the squabble to the Project. - A Link to the Past (talk) 09:00, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
I apologize for bringing this to your user talk page, but Ereinion has become highly aggressive, and I would appreciate it if you assisted in helping him even himself out. He is threatening to report me as a vandal if I claim that he is making personal attacks (believing that drivel somehow isn't meant to be insulting). Thank you. - A Link to the Past (talk) 01:57, 19 October 2005 (UTC)

Sean, I was very impressed by your efforts during the Final Fantasy VI FA nomination, even though you and I didn't quite get off on the right foot. Since, I've come to see how level-headed you are with all your edits, especially in the video game articles. That's a very difficult field to be in on Wikipedia, what with so many contributors, many of whom may not be the most cooperative. At any rate, have a Barnstar. You deserve it. BrianSmithson 02:02, 29 October 2005 (UTC)
If the tempaltes are only used on pages with appropriate context that the images would apply as fair use, then shouldnt it be fair use for hte images to be on the templates? Seeing how they *only* appear on pages in context? -- larsinio 17:54, 1 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:PolyStation NES clone.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{ GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{ Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{ fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. -- Pak21 11:04, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for your message. I realise that fair-use isn't allowed in the userspace. However, I plan to move this page out of the userspace at some point. I wanted to start in a sandbox because after I complete the article, I plan have a straw poll at the Final Fantasy Project regarding if this article belongs in the 'pedia or if it should be moved straight to another wiki. If someone asks me to remove the images, I'll switch to inline images whilst it is in the userspace. However, I don't think this will be an issue. -- JiFish( Talk/ Contrib) 16:04, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

I really like what you have done with your userbox section! Just recently I went through all the userboxes that are listed on the userbox page and picked out most of the ones that I identify with and hastily dumped them on my notebook page till I could figure out how to better organize them. I'll probably model the layout after yours :)
On a related note, looking through all of those userboxes made me come up with a list of ones to create as well ...ie, there isn't one for MY university (Texas A&M), or for ferrets ...or Dr. Pepper (at least not that I could find). Maybe I'll actually get around to making those someday! Anyhow, just wanted to say "howdy" and that I like how your userpage is coming along.

Actually according to Wikipedia's policy, it qualifies as fair use if a rationale is given, which is what I was planning to do. Although what you intend to use it for isn't considered instructive, it is unlicensed. This means as long as the author to it is properly accredited and used in its own context it is technically fair game. Of course it isn't important, so you can use what image you like, I just thought clearification would be beneficial. Eluchil 02:14, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

First of all, it's nice to see a new design for your user page and I like userboxes too. Now, the reason I'm sending you this message, is that I'm currently going from 0-9 and A-Z for Final Fantasy images and I am now up to Image:Chocobo.gif which has no information for its source and I've been searching with no result. Since "Univisión" is used elsewhere in the encyclopedia, it makes sense to try and be consistent. I'm not sure if that means we should move this page, or rename the pertinent categories.... – Seancdaug 07:24, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
Hey there. I noticed that the FFIX story article was large and not quite wikified (I plan on working on it). Do you feel that most of that information is obsolete to begin with? Deckiller 03:47, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
I noticed you're reverting a lot of my edits to userboxes, saying that the images "may or may not" be fair use images. I've been taking the position that userboxes should be beyond reproach--that if we're going to stop the userbox deletion hunt that's been going on, we should use only images that we are clearly free to use. The more questionable content userboxes contain, the more we open ourselves (meaning people who support userboxes) up to criticism and TfDs. What do you think? -- Fang Aili 23:25, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

The Kappa (Japanese folklore) article claimed that they were called Kappas in the Japanese version of FF but translated as "imps" in the American port. That not so? I've never played FF in Japanese, so I never thought to question the statement. — BrianSmithson 18:14, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
Hey again, Seancdaug. Even though this is off-topic, I noticed in your post in Talk:Seiken Densetsu that you added a colon to the title of Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest. That's actually a redirect, and I was wondering if that's the correct way to title the game. Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles has a colon, so should it be the same? Also, it was once discussed that Final Fantasy Adventure is actually title The Final Fantasy Adventure, as GameFAQs has listed it. I can't tell on that boxart, but if you look on the North American boxart of Final Fantasy Legend, you'll see it has a "the" in the title as well. I know these are trivial issues, but you've got a much greater knowledge of policies and guidelines than me and I'd like to make the titles as precise as possible. Thanks. ~ Hibana 23:29, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

I'm well aware of Wikipedia's policies. But to say that an article about Red XIII or Kimahri is meaningful while one about Terra or Celes is fancruft is absurd. I can tell you now that Terra and Celes (and not to mention Locke, Edgar, and Sabin) are far more popular than Red XIII. If we are to turn a blind eye to the earlier games in the series, we become elitists. And although Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of info, it shouldn't be spitting in the face of cultism and fandom either. An article like "list of spells in FFIV" or "Luca" or "Lindblum" or "Figaro" of course would be not allowed because they have too little merit. But a character article is different. There are plenty of characters from the later games who are much less popular than the Amano ones (All FFVIII characters not named Squall or Rinoa, Kimahri, Tidus, Yuna, Cait Sith, Rikku). And I've personally met more Amano fans than Nomura ones. I can tell you firsthand that there are plenty of FFI, FFIV, FFV, and FFVI fans out there. By your logic, which seems to be what we will call "proportional logic," Ronald Reagan deserves far more attention here than Bill Clinton on the sole fact that he received more popular votes. The majority of people who played both FFVII and FFVI consider FFVI to be better.
And also, by your logic, Kefka is more deserving of a page than Seymour, yet you personally seem to disagree. Do more people know about Seymour than Kefka? I don't know, I don't know every Final Fantasy fan out there. But what I DO know is that a general consensus among fans is that Sephiroth is the most influential villain, followed immediately by Kefka.
And isn't it fancruft when a more popular game gets more recognition than a lesser one? Somehow I feel like the general consensus around here is to basically ignore (I know that sounds harsh, but I don't know a better way to put it. Words fail me) the pre-Playstation era. Crazyswordsman 06:32, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
Oh yeah, I forgot. About the FF Wiki, it is very unreliable and is in dire need of attention and cleanup, and no one seems to want to do this. If it were hosted by, say MediaWiki, it probably would be overall better than the state it is in now. It's very disorganized, and although I will be happy to fix it, I refuse to do it without help. Crazyswordsman 06:35, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
Hey, how goes the editing? It has been a while since we last talked. Deckiller 00:06, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
Wow. I just got through reading the development of this unfortunate situation... I was about to add some measure of defense against some of the points raised by Renmiri but I don't want it to look like some supposed WPFF cabal is closing ranks. Assuming this hasn't completely demoralised you, what do you reckon? > Gamemaker 02:17, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
Sorry for reverting you on template:web reference. But all inclusions were completely in italic font after your removal of 'style="font-style:normal;"'. So I think it is needed. All the best! -- Adrian Buehlmann 23:33, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks again for your input. To prepare for the incoming apocolypse, I did something very drastic: I created (lots of) FFVI articles on the FFWiki. I've looked at that place, and it seemed to me like a breeding ground for one to two sentence articles on characters in post-FFVI games. I took it upon myself to prove a point: FFVI is like a four star restaurant while FFVII-FFX are like McDonalds (the four-star is better, but for some reason everyone likes the McDonalds). The FFVI articles I created over there are much more in depth than those of the later installments, and I try to make them look like they could pass for their own pages. I actually would appreciate your help with the pre-Playstation games. I want to make that section the most beautiful over there (I won't destroy the others, heh, don't worry, I'm just going above and beyond for FFVI). Go check them out! (By the way, I am creating all the FFVI articles except the main one from scratch, and not importing much from here).
Over here, I've done some major work on the List of FFV locations article (and it still needs lots of work). Crazyswordsman 20:52, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Hi there, long time no speak I know. I've been mad busy with this thing they call life so I haven't been involved as much as I'd like to! Anyways, I was thinking about giving WikiProject Final Fantasy a bit of a tweak and wouldn't do anything of the sort without you being one of the first people I involve. I've been working on a project within my userpages where I've been taking each project page individually and looking at it from a point of usablility. I haven't done everything I want to do yet as you can see, but I would really love your input. Hope I'm not being rude. All the same, hope all is well with you, and hope to hear from you soon. Good things only of course ;) — CuaHL 02:04, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
Hey, Roofus. I've removed Image:Sunday2.jpg from the Nintendo Entertainment System article, because I'm concerned that it was a little excessive to include two images from Wisdom Tree games in the article, and my feeling that the existing image ( Image:Bible adventures.jpg) added more to the content of the article: the title screen is relatively mundane, but the cartridge itself is of a unique design. If you want to dispute my reasoning, I'm willing to be swayed :). As an aside, if you are responsible for capturing the image, could I ask you to consider recapturing it in PNG format? Generally speaking, NES screenshots look and compress better in PNG format than in JPEG format. If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's not really a big deal. – Seancdaug 06:16, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
I think there is a valid need to link. When I was reading the NES article I wanted to learn about the 10NES chip, and wasn't going to go searching around for more info. Knowing about learning in-depth detail is relevent to the context of the link. Your revert only puts the 10NES link one time. I don't believe my linking was excessive or irrelevent. - Hbdragon88 04:42, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

I look forward to using these tools to enhance and maintain this wonderful site. Thanks for uploading Image:Pocket Famicom.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{ GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL.
