Hi Samf4U, Your article is not TOO bad. The problem is the subject which has ZERO-notability and therefore has no place in Wikipedia as a stand-alone article. One thing that might make your life easier, (once you find a suitable NOTABLE subject), and that is to use the templates at Template:WPAVIATION creator, which cover most articles that can be written about aviation subjects. Just insert your title and press create, or (what i do), put a gobble-de-gook title in press crete and copy the template for insertion in a blank page.-- Petebutt ( talk) 10:07, 2 November 2014 (UTC)

Sam, you may wish to create a sandbox to work up articles in peace before releasing them. To create one, simply edit the User:Samf4u/Sandbox page. If no other editor edits an article while its in your sandbox, you simply copy and paste into the new article when ready. If using categories in your sandbox, you need to use a colon before the word Category. One of my sandboxes is User:Mjroots/sandbox2, where you will see how I bash articles into shape before release. A lot of what is in the proto-articles gets deleted at release into mainspace, but it is there to accommodate different types of mills. Best, Mjroots ( talk) 08:45, 13 November 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:2001 Antonov 70 crash 1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Thanks for uploading File:F89-D Scorpion Air Force interceptor 1958.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. ☼ 12:40, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
Hi Sam: The problem is that some of the article has been copied word for word from the sources. That's not acceptable on Wikipedia. And some of the bits that haven't been copied word for word are very, very close to the source (i.e. only a word or two changed) which is also not acceptable. You'll need to carefully rewrite anything that's either plagiarized or closely paraphrased before it will be accepted! Sorry. Let me know if you have any questions! An article is nominated for deletion when an editor thinks there MIGHT be a case for not including it in main-space. The result of the debate seals it's fate. Personally I feel that far too many get passed, purely on the basis of how many news articles there were or how many hits on Google are generated. The process is there to be used, but some people get shirty about it. The important thing to remember is that it is not a personal attack (although there have been occasions where it has been used as such).-- Petebutt ( talk) 05:18, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

You may also want to watch Wikipedia:New articles (Aircraft) as this is where newly created articles get listed for peer review. Having a look over these new articles is a great way to get a feel for how things are done on the project and also most new articles need reviewing anyway. Hello there! Just got your message about the edit to the foreign policy page. I understand the concern that the edit may not have appeared constructive on account of the huge reduction in word count, but the text being removed was not contributing to the page and actively harming the readability thereof; the first part of the section of the page in question made sense, but then that paragraph was copy-pasted over and over again for no apparent reason, so I removed the part that had been repeated. 90.255.38.80 ( talk) 01:27, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

Please engage me on the Talk page for Candy Making where I have posted my reasons for disputing the content on this page. I quote my position as follows:
I respectfully dispute inclusion of the 3rd and 4th paragraphs under the History section: [1]
These paragraphs have to deal with gender discrimination issues. They only tangentially have anything to do with the actual topic of Candy Making. I request that they be removed and placed in an article about gender discrimination. Let's keep the lens through which we view every topic a more neutral one. Surely whatever message the author of these paragraphs might want to convey about gender discrimination can be properly addressed elsewhere. It alienates many readers to turn even the remotest topic on Wiki into a political platform. There is enough criticism of Wiki bias as it is.

In the late 19th century and especially the early 20th century, industrial candy making was almost exclusively a masculine affair, and home-based candy making was a feminine affair.[1] Candy was considered sweet and dainty, so making it at home, giving it away to friends, and perhaps selling small amounts in the local area, conformed with the Western gender roles for women of the time. Most women making and selling candy did so only seasonally or for a little extra money; they rarely earned enough to support themselves or their families. Despite several large brands being named after women or otherwise capitalizing on wholesome, feminine, and maternal images, very few were owned or operated by women. Gender segregation also affected candy workers in the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.[1] Men and boys were employed for cooking or operating machinery. Women were mostly employed for wrapping and putting candies in packages or for hand-dipping candies in chocolate. The best-paid women were chocolate dippers, yet the wages of these skilled and experienced female workers were almost always lower than that of the worst-paid male machine operators.
Sincerely,
MrKiffy
Hi, I believe that the recent edit of Charles Conder which you recently reverted was actually in good faith. The previous editor had calculated that Charles's age was four at the time of his mother's death. The sentence as it stands is grammatically ambiguous - the age could be that of his mother (31) or Charles (4). I intend to reword it to include both dates; I thought I'd explain, since it is a bit like revert of your revert; but I'm certainly not trying to start an edit war! Thanks, Mozzy66 ( talk) 10:04, 29 January 2018 (UTC)

Hey Samf4u. Please realize that the person who originally added this sentence about Munro to the Kalulu entry was the real vandal. It is absolutely unsourced. It is so much inaccurate that the only available reference to any Munro with regard to Stanley and Kalulu mentions an anti-slavery British governor in India named Munro. See here in Endnote 5: https://www.headstuff.org/history/henry-stanley-the-man-who-stole-the-congo/ . "He reportedly almost called the boy “Munro”, possibly after a notoriously anti-slavery British governor in India the previous century, but was told the pro-slavery locals would not appreciate the joke." And there is this reference to Stanley's "manic" nature. Could you please do something about that if you really care about vandalism? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.63.24.14 ( talk) 20:51, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for your thoughtful reply! I think it would be better not to make any reference to that alternative Munro, either. The person most similar to the description was Sir Thomas Munro ( /info/en/?search=Sir_Thomas_Munro,_1st_Baronet ), but John Munro, who did not hold the position of governor, also made efforts to abolish slavery in certain areas of India ( /info/en/?search=John_Munro,_9th_of_Teaninich ). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.63.24.14 ( talk) 00:57, 11 February 2018 (UTC)
Both aircraft have first flight dates of 1948 and 1947 respectively as shown in there info box and it is by first flight not introduction into service that the Category:United States fighter aircraft 1940–1949 list goes by see /info/en/?search=Douglas_F3D_Skyknight that also has a 1948 first flight date but a 1951 introduction date later than either the Scorpion and Panther.

G'day all, please be advised that throughout April 2018 the Military history Wikiproject is running its annual backlog elimination drive. This will focus on several key areas:
As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.
The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the scope of military history will be considered eligible. This year, the Military history project would like to extend a specific welcome to members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red, and we would like to encourage all participants to consider working on helping to improve our coverage of women in the military. This is not the sole focus of the edit-a-thon, though, and there are aspects that hopefully will appeal to pretty much everyone.
The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 April and runs until 23:59 UTC on 30 April 2018. Those interested in participating can sign up here.

Hello Samf4u. You recently reverted my section of Archavanich. I'm new to editing, and don't see how my edits were "unconstructive" or "constitute vandalism". I see from your recent contributions that at least 95% of your edits consist of undoing other people's edits and leaving them messages. And I see that you are doing this currently at a rate of several a minute. It seems, therefore, that you are not taking the time to properly decide which edits to revert. You have twice undone an edit of mine, in which I changed the text "her life was ended" to "she died". The former is stilted and unidiomatic. The latter is idiomatic. So why are you undoing the edit? Hi! I noticed you created the article Capital Airlines Flight 300, which had been on my translation to-do list for a while and was wondering if you would please consider joining the Soviet aviation task force and write some of our missing articles on Soviet air crashes that are not yet in English. Due to censorship of crashes in the Soviet Union they weren't covered in the news in English when they happened and only after a bulk of major incidents were declassified all at one did we learn about the extent of air safety problems in the USSR, but most (not all) material remains in Russian because the topics have "expired" in the English media, with some major cases dating back to the 60's barely having English coverage. It's not very hard to create these articles, and even if you don't have any Russian skills at all you can still create infoboxes and a few basic paragraphs in a sandbox (and then you ask me or someone else to write the rest). We have dozens of articles that are well above meeting notability guidelines on our project to-do list so don't hesitate to write a few! To join the project, just add your name to the participants list and add the userbox to your page. Thank you, -- PlanespotterA320 ( talk) 17:47, 11 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi, and thanks again for all the articles you've written for the Soviet Aviation Task Force. I would just like to remind you add the link to the corresponding article in other languages of the English article to the English one (simply click on the "edit links" in the "Languages" sidebar, then enter the langcode and title of the corresponding article. It's also good to add a link to the article in the Aviation accidents and incidents in (year) template (ex, Template:Aviation accidents and incidents in 1967 and if needed add a link in the correct decade to the Template:Aeroflot (each decade list is sorted in chronological order). And it's also good to have the category for the cause of the accident, ex, "Category:Airliner accidents and incidents caused by pilot error". I've noticed that you have reverted my edit. I previously explained why I did it, but another editor wished for me to add a population date before the conquests of Justinian I as well. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot ( talk) 21:27, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
