Wouldn't your edit be wrong too? He's a free agent ChiefsLover17 ( talk) 18:59, 13 March 2023 (UTC)

@ ChiefsLover17: Nope. Because players with expiring contracts are not free agents until 4 pm eastern time Wednesday. You can verify this at this link from NFL Communications.--Rockchalk 7 17 19:04, 13 March 2023 (UTC)

Link once

For the channels for March Madness, we have always linked every different channel once. That way it is clear to the reader that whether on CBS, TNT, TBS, or Trutv that it is produced by the same program. Otherwise there is no way to know because TNT and TBS are not the same. This is how we've handled in articles for decades so it would be good to keep consistency, otherwise feel free to bring it up in WP College Basketball. @ Mjs32193: I'll tell you what an admin just told me on another project. Project "standards" do not overrule policies like WP:LINKONCE. I don't need a consensus to do something when I'm backed by a policy.--Rockchalk 7 17 01:12, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
I think what I'm trying to say is WP:LINKONCE does not apply in this case. For instance, if a casual reader is looking for the link to TBS how would they know to click on CBS? They are completely different channels and not even owned by the same company. I'm curious who was saying differently, do you have a link to the conversation? @ Mjs32193: Link once 100% does apply. Just because the display is different doesn't mean the situation still doesn't apply to it. LINKONCE says "Generally, a link should appear only once in an article" but it does mention it can be necessary to use the same link in different parts of the article, such as the infobox and lede. However, when you adding it on consecutive lines in the same table, that's where the violation of it kicks in.--Rockchalk 7 17 16:26, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
