Hello! Your submission of Sylph (ship) at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! cmadler ( talk) 16:41, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for the advice. :) Rong Qiqi is not famous for meeting Confucius per se, he is famous for a fable surrounding him that is a philisophical allegory for a hedonistic, ascetic-like way of life. I apologise, this wasn't made clear in the DYK nomination, but I thought the meeting-Confucius-thing would be a more appealing hook! And as for List of Chinese military texts, could you suggest which parts specifically need to be wikified? Which part of the lead? Any help would be much appreciated, hoping to get that one through DYK as well.-- Hongkongresident ( talk) 03:38, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

The DYK project ( nominate) 00:02, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Dear Philg88, I have added Chinese nomenclature in the [1] because the terms do not have an established content, they started as vague concepts [2] without geographical delineation, and it took a millenia to become the provinces [ [3] that are associated with specific historical events. Since the pinyin phonetization differs from other phonetizations in the literature and translations, it is difficult to catch location of the historical events without their Chinese coding. The indication of the Chinese form is not intended to make English–Chinese bilingual edition, but help to bridge the vagueness of the archaic terms with their use in the Classical events. I would suggest that we keep them, per WP:MOS-ZH Thanks, Barefact ( talk) 09:43, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Hi PhilG八十八. An IP has recently changed Soong's background to Cantonese which I reverted. It may become a problem as Hugi works towards WP:GA status for the article. (As I'm sure you are aware, ethnic background issues can most unfortunately turn an encyclopaedia into a battleground.) Could it possibly be referenced to save future bother? Oo-roo!-- Shirt58 ( talk) 10:51, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Hello. For purposes of avoiding over-linking, I recommend that for all instances of the template except the first, you use the "links=no" parameter of the ZH-template. And much of the time only simplified Chinese is given in parentheses, to reduce clutter from language. Thanks, and happy editing!-- HXL 's Roundtable, and Record 23:49, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
These historical names are referenced. You are in China, it is also easy to find a bronze inscription book to verify it. Also 國 did not mean state in Zhou dynasty. 《姓氏•名号•别称》:中国人的避讳 Gaia1CB3 ( talk) 11:34, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
You translating Chinese terms is good faith. They are usually pinyin. We may already have many English translations without concensus. You are adding new ones. Gaia1CB3 ( talk) 13:01, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Hello Phil! Thank you all for your comments at Talk:Franco-Mongol alliance! Now that the RfC is over, and since concensus seems to be that the sandbox article User:Per Honor et Gloria/Sandbox/Mongol elements in Western medieval art is a worthwhile article, would you mind actually copying the article into the main space: Mongol elements in Western medieval art, and link one or two articles to it? Thank you! Per Honor et Gloria ✍ 11:49, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

On 7 January 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Hainan Eastern Ring Railway, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the newly opened Hainan Eastern Ring Railway employed 50,000 workers, and is Hainan's largest single investment project to date? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000.
