Hello, Peter.corke, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for helping us build a great free encyclopedia. We have five basic principles, but other than that, we advise that you be bold and edit. If you ever have any questions or need help, feel free to leave a message at the help desk, and other Wikipedia editors will be happy to assist you.
Thanks again and congratulations on becoming a Wikipedian!
P.S. New discussion threads for you will appear at the bottom of this page.
Hello Peter.corke,
It seems to me that an article you worked on, Robotics Toolbox for MATLAB, may be copied from http://petercorke.com/Robotics_Toolbox.html. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.
It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.
Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot ( talk) 06:37, 8 September 2013 (UTC)
I will try to fix the article – either later today or tomorrow, using the information in your message. (As you can probably tell, I hate jargon abbreviations. But if they're explained properly and used properly, then they're OK.)
You taught me a Britishism! (I've wanted to take up a chair many times, but only to use it on somebody from behind.)
And you're right about conflicts of interest, but I'm sure that it can be fixed without you having to do anything.

Hello, Peter.corke. We
welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things
you have written about in the page
Peter Corke, you may have a
conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the
COI guideline and
FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.

Hi! It appears you have a conflict of interest that you have failed to declare per
WP:DISCLOSE. You have already been given notice about the impropriety of editing
Peter Corke yourself. Please follow the directions in the notice above, including declaring your conflict of interest and refraining from editing articles directly where you are, or are closely related to, the subject.

There is currently a discussion at
Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible
conflict of interest incident with which you may be involved. Thank you.

Hi again Peter. I've done some quick copy editing and updating of the citations for several articles, but I did leave some citation needed tags in your biographical article where I couldn't find independent, third-party verification. Would you mind taking a look and letting me know if you're aware of any sources that meet
WP:V and
WP:RS for any of the citation needed content that I tagged?
Also, thank you for adding the COI template to the
Robotics Toolbox for MATLAB article. For that article, your bio, and articles related to your employer, if there's anything you want to change, just copy/paste this: {{request edit}} (when it asks, select use plain text) on the talk page of the article along with the changes you'd like to see and the sources that support them. That lets your fellow editors know there's a request pending; you should get a reply to the request within a few hours or up to about a week.
