Hi. Whenever you revert a vandalised page it always appears with the text "Reverted 1 edit by xxxxxxxxxxxx identified as vandalism to last revision by yyyyyy. (TW)) (undo) How is this text created? Do you type it out each time, or is there a function to do it? Whenever I revert vandalism I have to type something out. I've looked up wikipedia:revert, but that doesn't seem to help.

Just wondering... I am attempting to build a page that is objective, factual and verifiable that, in my opinion, is no more advertising than other searchable companies placed on Wikipedia. I would like to know where I went wrong on this or what is considered unambiguos advertising so that I may alter page as needed.

Hi Oscarthecat,
Kindly note the below inaccuracies in the Juggernaut Page -
In the first para, the line "In the HINDU, it is most commonly used as an alternative name for a large articulated lorry." is incorrect. Firstly the sentence "in the HINDU" is wrong. Secondly if the writer means "in India, or in Hinduism, Juggernaut is most commonly used as an alternative name for a large articulated lorry" then it is not factually correct. as an Indian, I was exposed to the word Juggernaut in my English classes. It is in no way in colloquial usage and when used by Indians speaking in English, the meaning of the word is the same as in any other English speaking nation - it's used to describe an unstoppable force

Hi there,
I tried to post my first article about Kordia Korkor the other day. I did research to make sure it met all the guidelines and established criteria. From searching for other similar articles, I was sure that the content was fine - as i was writing about a new piece of hardware from a huge, state-owned tecommunications company in New Zealand: Kordia. As I'm new to this, I was trying to write an informative article about this, much like the Telecom
XT Mobile Network one, or the Google
HTC Dream Phone. Surely if those articles are allowed, then mine should not have been deleted. Especially since I found an article on the parent company
Kordia.
When it was deleted, I couldn't figure out how to get in touch with you! (It's pretty tricky!) So I re-posted it, after making some edits (I removed a couple of sentences which might have been read as subjective). Can the article please be 'unprotected' and put live again? Do let me know if there is any editing that needs to be done in order for it to meet guidelines.
Thank you, Salhew ( talk) 23:38, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Hello Oscarthecat,
I would like to argue that harkovast is notable on the basis that it is more popular than another similar comic that has it's own article. Namely Devia another anthropomorphic comic that appears on the [web-comic list] http://www.thewebcomiclist.com/p/11855/DEVIA if you take a moment to compare [Harkovast] http://www.thewebcomiclist.com/p/13834/Harkovast and devia you will notice that devia gets less hits per month and is of a far lower ranking on the web-comics list and yet [Devia] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devia has it's own article and harkovast does not.
Hoping you will consider this, -- Exodus500 ( talk) 13:55, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi there Oscar,
I noticed that the StrategiCom wiki entry has been blocked. Any way you can unblock it and provide some pointers on how I can contribute to the article?
By the way, I have read WP:CORP and all related guidelines on posting the article (such as advertising and promotion) so that it would not be biased or offensive in any way.
Many thanks! -- XNicklex ( talk) 04:46, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Many thanks Oscar. Will definitely ensure that the content is significantly different from the previous incarnations and inline with Wikipedia's policies. Appreciate your help in vetting the content once I have developed it. Cheers. -- XNicklex ( talk) 07:01, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi Oscar,

Hi Oscar,
Thank you very much for spending valuable time helping me to copy vet the page.
Further to your comments, I have made the necessary amendments. Could you see if this is more appropriate?
If it is, appreciate if you could remove those warning notices on StrategiCom's wikipedia page.

Hey,
I'm interning for this company and they told me to make a wikipedia page for them. What is the proper way for me to get permission from them to copy substance from their website? My boss told me verbatim to just copy the executives' information from the website.
Thanks, Akum Akumgill ( talk) 22:23, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Hey again Oscar,
The only things that I copied are the qualifications of the people (their history working at different firms and their successes there) and a short blurb about the articles. Everything else was handwritten or paraphrased at minimum. I think this is such an insignificant copy/paste that it shouldn't result in the whole page being pulled down. Would it still be unacceptable if I put those sections in quotation marks or do I need to rewrite them.
Thanks for the speedy and useful reply, Akum Akumgill ( talk) 19:40, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

I think that it was unnessecary to delete my page about Cake Rolling. I beleive cake Rolling is a soon to be internet phenomenon if we give it the push it needs and a page on wikipedia is exactly what it needs. Hi There - I think your deletion of this article was incorrect, both because I have asked numerous admins for guidance and followed wikipedia's directions for neutral content and because the context of the article is similar to another company page who has not been deleted: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SpringSoft - I do not feel the Real Intent, Inc. page is a G11 candidate - because the nature of the article is a definition not an advertisement or promotion. Many of those games therein listed have their own Wikipedia articles. Type Attack was not one of them, and the origin of this game I know very well, as the primary author James R. Hi. I have just put a {{db-inc}} tag on this article about a newly formed company; only then did I see in the history that you had PRODded it and the author had de-PRODded. I wasn't intending to dispute your decision to PROD; it seemed to me a clear "no indication of importance or significance." If you prefer, I will take it to AfD.
Also, re Pain Clinic (Band), where you wrote "speedy or afd, not both" - I wasn't intending to pursue this with you, but while I'm here: is there any reason why an article at AfD which clearly meets the criteria for a speedy should not be speedied? The relevant bit of WP:DEL seems to be: "Pages that meet the criteria for speedy deletion can be deleted regardless of other circumstances. If a page on a deletion debate is speedied, the debate is closed.", and I have seen this done several times before. Regards, JohnCD ( talk) 09:25, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Empire Rising is a 5 piece Australia Hip Hop/Electro/Rock band that formed in late 2005. The bands current live line-up is, Daniel Morris (Vocals + Keyboards)Chris Koro (Vocals) Lewis Ingham (Guitar + Vocals) Ben Saurine (Bass) Pat Thoms (Drums) & have frequant guest musicians, Ali Chisham (Vocals + Keyboards) Sarah Misford (Vocals) perform live & in the studio.
Empire Rising started as Rezonate sometime around 2002 when school friends, Lewi, Morris & Koro enlisted the help of Pat Thoms & Ben Saurine to perform at a school talent show. Dane O'brien who was also a school friend of the boys.
The Boys met Pat & Ben through Koro's sister and instantly formed a strong bond through music. Pat & Ben were writing for there band JOVA at the time & Morris although only 16 was an acouplised DJ, with Lewis & Koro learning guitar.
The 3 boys were amazed at demo tapes for Jova & started writing themselves, Pat & Ben agreed to start Rezonate as a side project & would meet up with the boys every few months to jam.
Around 2004 The boys started writing more hip hop based music under the name Ninth Division, with Morris programming beats, koro & lewis playing the guitar parts & the 3 of them writing lyrics & performing Vocals.

It is not the article that i am questioning, i also feel after some thought that it would be better as a entry on the individuals bio, i am more concerned with the fact that policy was not adhered to and the article was deleted through a speedy delete when it did not fit the criteria. discussion may have been a better option. The "hang on" tag also bothered me as it gives the user who created the page an option to edit or form a consensus and this was ignored, i am not a person who gives personal attacks and we are all human and make mistakes and forget stuff. I am simply giving a gentle reminder to remember the policy and try and stick to it. Regards

I protest against your high-handed one-sided decision to delete article stub about this person. It's quite obvious you are not knowledgeable about history, nor bothered to take a look at anything which linked (directly or via a redirect) to said article - for example, that the person was and is in list of missing articles about encyclopedic persons. You should learn that the guiy was a ruling count of Castile, and such rulers are deemed encyclopedic. You should have improved trhe article, or tagged it, but no, you decided to delete it outright. Now, your deed would in all likelihood mean it will be difficult to get the person ever to have an article, which is stupid. In other words, you did not think about consequences of what you did. 82.181.239.182 ( talk) 19:18, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
I find it surprising that you were unable to catch the historical role of this ruler, although there were links available.
Already the link pointing to Nuno rasura, included a mention that this son of his was ruling count of Castile.
Such unwillingness to actually read, does not fit to encyclopedia work.
Misuse of speedy deletion, I think. There are less intrusive procedures for checking the notability of the person - and I see you obviously chose the most intrusive and high-handed one.
It is quite well that you now feel sorry. However, you should feel sorry about what stupidity you did and caused - and you should correct those bad doings of yourself, not expect others to tidy after you and messes you caused. There are people who expect their messes to be cleaned, corrected by others - and then there's those good people who try to correct the mistakes they made. We will see whether you ever will do the latter.
When speaking to you, I do not see any reason for adopting any 'civil tongue', whatever are your wishes to gloss over the misuses and incompetences clearly shown. 82.181.239.182 ( talk) 22:25, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi, it seems you have blocked my account as a "Vandalism only account". I think you find if you check my contribution records you will find that I am an editor with over 21,000 edits since 2005 in the middle of a large project on WikiProject Aircraft. I am assuming that this block was as a result of creating redirect pages from www.ulparts.com and www.ppccanopies.com to a new article I just finished writing on an aircraft manufacturer Aircraft Sales and Parts. While at first blush this may look odd, if you read the article you will see that both those redirects are business names (I don't pick them) for legally registered subsidiaries of Aircraft Sales and Parts. I created the redirects for all four of the ASAP subsideries, as you can see.
Since this block is obvioulsy an error, can you please unblock me? - Ahunt ( talk) 20:59, 10 August 2009 (UTC) also User:Ahunt
