![]() Greetings from the
Guild of Copy Editors
September 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive. Thanks to all who participated! Several of our top editors were called away to real life concerns during the month (be careful out there, people!). This meant that once again, we did not meet all our lofty targets, but we did come close.
Barnstars
A huge "thank you" to all editors who helped clear the backlog and to others who helped out behind-the-scenes. See you at the next drive, and until then, please continue to help us work through the backlog. Happy editing! Coordinator: ɳorɑfʈ Talk! Co-coordinators: Diannaa ( Talk) and S Masters ( talk). Hello, dear NerdyScienceDude! Interesting name, by the way! ;) Here's your quote; I hope you like it, and please remember to give it a nice, truthful-but-not-merciless rating at the motto shop. :) Love, → Clementina [ Scribble ] 06:07, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from Nettrom ( talk), SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot ( talk) 15:32, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

This looks like a false positive (compare 178,000 results to 1,860). Be sure not to accept AWB's typo fixes unless you are sure it is accurate. – xeno talk 20:49, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
On yor page here's a userbox that says: "This user is a middle school student." I couldn't find the code for it, could you please tell me? Thank you, -- Glimmer721 talk 01:01, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
Is this edit constructive? Wayne Olajuwon chat 19:59, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
Hello, NSD. On the NASCAR race articles, am I only suppose to link a name in the article once, or in each section? When I am using AWB, it warns me if there are repeated links. Nascar 1996 21:45, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

If the image on this template is "deprecated" can you tell me what image to use? The temple defaults to not using this image unless an image is actually needed but not available.-- ARTEST4ECHO ( talk| contribs) 14:19, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

20:44, 22 October 2010 (UTC)Can the IP address be deleted from edited articles so that i can be left un identified? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hemcouture ( talk • contribs) 21:04, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Ok change of request can you delete this ip address 92.27.196.125 off the St.philomena's article "edit history". I believe that you would be far more able than me as you probably know how to manually delete things where as I haven't a clue! I would pay you if I could! Did the changes I made to Red Bull Racing Team good or bad? Do you think its better with the car descriptions or season by seaso, and finaly, does it read like a news article? I would like your opinion. Thanks Nascar 1996 03:43, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Portal:NASCAR is a place where we can exhibit our best articles and most interesting free images. Any article which is FA, GA, High or Top importance can be added for display as a Selected article or as a Selected biography, free images can be added to be displayed as Selected pictures. All of these are chosen randomly for display on each page view to avoid both bias and having to manually update the page monthly. If you've created or seen an article or image that you feel would be a good addition to the portal, follow the instructions on the pages linked above. Please nominate it on the talk pages.
Below is the NASCAR Picture of the month (found here). The picture has to be one uploaded in the last month.

Article of the month –
Alan Kulwicki, selected as a good article
Alan Dennis Kulwicki (December 14, 1954 – April 1, 1993), nicknamed "Special K" and the "Polish Prince", was an American NASCAR Winston Cup Series (now Sprint Cup Series) racecar driver. He started racing at local short tracks in Wisconsin before moving up to regional stock car touring series. Kulwicki arrived at NASCAR, the highest and most expensive level of stock car racing in the United States, with no sponsor, a limited budget, and only a racecar and a borrowed pickup truck. Despite starting with meager equipment and finances, he earned the 1986 NASCAR Rookie of the Year award over drivers racing for well-funded teams. After Kulwicki won his first race at Phoenix International Raceway, he debuted what would become his trademark " Polish Victory Lap". Kulwicki won the 1992 Winston Cup championship by what was then the closest margin in NASCAR history. He died early in 1993 in a light aircraft accident, and was unable to defend his championship. He has been inducted into numerous racing halls of fame and was named one of NASCAR's 50 Greatest Drivers. Kulwicki was known for being a perfectionist and doing things his own way. An engineer by trade, his scientific approach to NASCAR racing inspires the way teams are now run. Despite lucrative offers from top car owners, he insisted on driving for his own race team, AK Racing, during most of his NASCAR career. Described by his publicist as "a real hard type of person to get to know", he remained a bachelor throughout his life. Hello, when I was creating the newest section for the NASCAR portal, Portal:NASCAR/Championship standings, I wanted the third table to be below the others in the middle. However, it would squeeze inbetween the others. That table is hidden, and I was wondering if you would know how to fix it. Also, do you believe we should add colors to the tables that are similar to the portal colors? Thanks. Nascar 1996 02:17, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
I may be able to do that for the 500, I'm not going to be able to finish this race. Nascar 1996 18:10, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
