thanks a lot for reverting vandalism on my user page. I didn't even know about it until I happened to be browsing your contributions page when I heard you were going on Wikibreak. Hope you have a good wikibreak, and I also hope to see you around after the break is over. keep up the good work, Alhutch 02:42, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
I had e-mailed you about my desire to join Esperanza.Since you did not reply to the e-mail I assume you have no objections to my becoming an Esperanzian. Also I meet the criteria mentioned under WP:ESP/CHA.-viz.over 150 edits,2 weeks as a Wikipedia member and a willingness to abide by the terms of the charter.Having said this,I will now join Esperanza.
Thank you, NSLE/Archive 8 | ||

Hey there, thought I might comment on this reversion. While I totally respect that it was a pretty bogus comment - I think it'd be a better idea to reply to the comment, rather than reverting it. It gives a bad image of Wikipedia if the user believes that one cannot sensibly make a complaint about an admin. Just a thought. Werdna648 T/ C\ @ 04:47, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
I am undergoing an Rfc and under Rfc rules I am suppose to inform users involved with the dispute about the Rfc to get their comments ( See the first bullet). I think that is the "spam" you are referring to.-- Jersey Devil 05:06, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
Greetings from an Indian wikipedian. I saw you on this page, and just felt like saying you a hello. Let us sometimes exchange our wiki-experience to build the best global encyclopedia. -- Bhadani 07:34, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
Yea, sure. I'll try and help. Hurricanehink 15:33, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
OK so that Icelandic Empire picture shouldn't of been there, but what's with that! If there unsourced, you could've just asked me to add their source. What about the userboxes, what was wrong with them, someone's got to make them eventually. Plus, they were just mentioning that I was part of certain WikiProjects! I can't believe it. Thanx a lot. Icelandic Hurricane #12 21:49, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
I see that you blocked him indefinitely for only one act of vandalism. Might you consider shortening the duration? I know that he can be a good contributor. It's your call, but I thought it might be worth giving him another chance. Yeltensic 42 don't panic 22:36, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
Ok so now I have a brand new demon to deal with? I just added the link back and just now you delete it off the page? Just for fun I suppose? I'm supposed to be "3R" and "civil" so I'll say this nicely; quit deleting my f_____g link ok? 0waldo 01:28, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
I would participate in an RFARB, but am disinclined to start it as I am unfamiliar with the process. ॐ Metta Bubble puff 04:02, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
Help. I blocked a username Tetrahydrocannabinol as inapropriate which I believe it is. Got an indignant demanding email from the blocked user stating he likes the chemical and that it is not a name in violation of wikipedia policy and will take it to as many admins as he has to. Very indignant. Is the name in violation because it is an illegal substance at least in US where I am? This hasn't come up before and I saw on recent changes that you are in and more experienced than I am as an admin and am asking you. I think I am right but need advice. Thanks-- Dakota ~ ° 07:29, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

Just wondering why did you delete the link to the ABC radio station. I notice that they have dropped the streaming audio but there is a lot of info there for folks from outside Australia - esp those who might have friends & relos on holiday there Albatross2147 10:42, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
I think I am going to unblock him and let someone else deal with his nonsense. I'm going to wash my hands of him.-- MONGO 10:47, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
NSLE, how about you just unblock and recommend arbcom to him...even give him the links...finally put an end to this nonsense.-- MONGO 11:18, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for unblocking me NSLE.However as to referring the matter to
WP:RFAR,I fear that might worsen the already strained relationship I have with MONGO.I do not want to make an enemy with of the latter-I just want to get back to editing. However if you still feel that it would be best if the matter was referred to
WP:RFAR please let me know and I will follow your advice. Thanks once again for your efforts in sorting this issue out.

Greetings, sorry to have to write you but this revert does not appear very appropriate. Not being familiar with admin rights... would such a revert ordinarily be condoned? Also, I am now aware of your intention to file a RFAR. Netscott 11:55, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
You know User:Irishpunktom might have a good point here. Netscott 13:16, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
It might just be better to retract the RFAR and go the RfC route. Netscott 13:18, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
I've left a note with R suggesting that he choose his words more carefully. If you could look over this and tell me what you think, that would be good. - brenneman {L} 02:36, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

Hello,
I noticed you blocked a user on the Cyclone Larry talk page. While I certainly didn't agree with his abuse, I believe you did the wrong thing in blocking him, as the guy really seemed to have a decent argument and only wanted to get his views across.
Anyway, there's three of us who think it should be Category 4 now; I think it'd be good to hear your thoughts and see if you have anything respectable to say on the matter. Best wishes. PH34R 06:17, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
Your blocking was inappropriate. I first commented on the Talk Page before making the change, and most people on the talk page agree that Category 4 is correct anyway. The statistics available from the Australian Bureau of Meteorology with local measuring equipment are the most credible source for data, and according to that data, the cyclone was Category 4 on the SS scale. No alternative official source has been indicated to lend validity to the Category 3 assertion. I also cited why I removed the inappropriate reference, as per Wikipedia policy ("self-published books, personal websites, and blogs are largely not acceptable as sources"). The only cited reference to Category 3 is from a blog. I indicated in my change that if the change be reverted, a valid verifiable source for stating Category 3 be included. Blocking users because they disagree with you, though they have acted in accord with policy is an abuse of adminstrator priveleges.-- Jeffro77 08:56, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
Hiya. I just read through User_talk:Rgulerdem, and it seems to me that he's managed to push your wikistress to the limit. I'd like to offer myself up as an uninvolved party to help with the situation. But I don't want to do so without talking to you first. How does that sound? Nandesuka 12:15, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
Hi NSLE! Many many thanks for your support in my RfA. It passed at 105/1/0, putting me in WP:100! Your help, support and advice in my Admin coaching was a major part of this. If you ever need anything, please drop me a line. I hope you enjoy your Wikibreak. Cheers! ➨ ❝ R E DVERS ❞ 20:23, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi NSLE, and thank you for taking time to vote on my RfA. I understand that my last 6000+ edits were not sufficient to convince you that edits like some of my early ones would never be repeated again, but I sincerely hope that at some point I would be able to convince you of my transformation. Looking forward to working with you in future. Regards, deeptrivia ( talk) 03:23, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
Hey NSLE, I prepared my questions in advance, including yours. Would you like to see them? -- Khoikhoi 04:41, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
My RfA recently closed and it was a success, passing at 84-02-00. I would like to thank you for your support. Normally I would extend a hand in regards to any help I could offer, but seeing as your an admin as well, any help from me would probably be minimal. Nonetheless, if something does come up and you would like another opinion, please by all means, grab a Pepsi and stop by my talk page. Thanks again. Pepsidrinka 17:54, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry to hear you're stressed out...don't let the trolls get to you. Here's a self-hypnosis thing to try (it works for me):
Close your eyes for 10 seconds. Picture your mind in a dark, quiet space. Each time you breathe in, it cools, and becomes calm. You are in control of the state of your mind.
I hope it helps....good luck ;)-- The i kiro id ( talk/parler/hablar/paroli/说/話) 01:27, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Hi NSLE, could you tell me what comments in particular of Splash's you are referring to with this edit? Cheers, Talrias ( t | e | c) 07:03, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for reverting vandalism on my user page. Apparently I'm an "idiot admin bastard." I don't know which of the three insults is the worst. ;) -- Tantalum T e lluride 07:13, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Hey there, I see your hands are full due to trolls. Well so are mine. So I suggest we cooperate in dealing with them which would benefict us both. I for one am overwhelmed with the number of trolls I deal with to the point of loosing my objectivity. I believe you may be suffering from the same problem.
Here is what I propose. I'll collect evidence against people pestering you and you do te same for me.
Since I have no idea who you are, I do not believe there is a conflict of interest.

NSLE, I just went over 3RR. I lost count. You're an admin active right now, so I'm reporting for the tongue-lashing or the block or whatever.
We have a brand-new user named RedCrescent who believes that he has a direct line to Allah. He is editing the Zakir Naik article to say that Zakir Naik's beliefs are not orthodox and are contrary to the Qur'an and Sunnah. I keep pointing out that WP cannot make religious judgments and he keeps coming up with new ways to say that Zakir Naik's beliefs are WRONG.
Punish me if you must, but please throw in a few reverts at Zakir Naik. Zora 07:38, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for contacting me. this notes that another admin may choose to lighten/remove a block for accepting responsibility for a 3RR vio. In my view this would similarly apply to if someone accepted they did it and asked to be blocked, hence I handed down a lighter block. If you strongly feel it should be 6 hours each, feel free to change the block length. NSL E ( T+ C) at 09:46 UTC ( 2006-03-28)
I hthought the What Wikipedia is not thing only applied for articles, not userpages. Because your name is original research to them, because you have no source. So, maybe I could get rid of the new words thing, but the rest should be fine on userpages. Icelandic Hurricane #12 12:09, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Hello NSLE! I was wondering if you could take a look at the post I just left at User talk:MONGO. I'd like your input on the proposal I made there. Regards, Hamster Sandwich 01:17, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Hi NSLE. I am preparing to nominate myself for adminship in the coming week, and I noticed your vote on Benon's RfA. I was wondering if you would care to comment on my edit history or my responses to the nomination questions. I would value any feedback you care to send my way... thanks! ~ MDD 46 96 04:04, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Dear NSLE, just prior to you going on wikibreak, I messaged you regarding, among other things, your deletion from your talk page of editors messgaes concerning your actions as an administrator. As you went on wikibreak, I left messages for you here and on my talk page and I emailed you about these. I was inclined to leave you alone as you were on wikibreak, however as you invited me to, and I saw that you were still editing, I thought it was fair to email. As yet you haven't replied. I don't know if this is because you've chosen not to or because you simply forgot, but I'm assuming good faith. Needless to say, I'm still concerned that you seem unwilling to discuss your actions as an administrator with other wikipedians. (Let's just say for now that I'm not so much concerned about the circumstances surrounding the particular blocks at 'Cyclone Larry' that led me to raise this with you in the first place). If there are circumstances that I'm unawre of or something that I've misunderstood, I'd be more than happy for you to explain them to me. I hope to recieve some sort of reply from you and that you're able to boost my confidence in your abilities as an administrator. Thanks. -- Adz| talk 07:53, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Hi NSLE, I will create the page and answer the questions asap. I would appreciate if you come to IRC (now, if possible) more often so that I can discuss issues regarding admin coaching with you. Thanks. -- Ter e nc e Ong 10:03, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Thank you so much my friend. Being an admin is small potatoes to this, I feel proud once again, perhaps I can even get over my Wiki-phobia soon thanks to this. Hi, you made the comment that "If it's a self nomination I expect to see... well, a self-nomination. There's absolutely no description of himself. This is ridiculous."
I understand that...*now*. Problem with the RfA guide is it doesn't actually tell you that you need to introduce yourself etc. Have a look for yourself :) Anyway, I'll resubmit soon with a proper introduction. Thanks. Stevage 09:39, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
I need a favour, thi sis in part due to your faith (no offence, I hope). User talk:NSLE#Zakir Naik - a new Muslim editor has (apparently) been pushing POV at the Zakir Naik article, and whom I've just blocked for 3RR. I'd like to ask you if you could help me explain to him our NPOV and 3RR policies, as he may be more willing to listen to a Muslim editor. Cheers, NSL E ( T+ C) at 09:35 UTC ( 2006-03-28)

Just to let you know, the immature user was imitating you on his user talk page. I'm not sure if that's allowed or not (user impersonating an admin), but I thought I'd give a heads up. Hurricanehink 17:29, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
Hey NSLE. I checked the logs and it appears that the check redirect code in pywikipedia seems to have broken. I've discarded it for a faster performing version that shouldn't ever break. Sorry bout that confusion. joshbuddy talk 00:41, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
