Autopatrolled

Hi Mellamelina, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! –  Joe ( talk) 12:49, 11 June 2023 (UTC) reply

Hello, Mellamelina

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Adamtt9, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Valentin Royer, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Adamtt9}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

Deletion discussion about Valentin Royer

Hello Mellamelina, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Valentin Royer, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Valentin Royer.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Adamtt9}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Paragraph breaks in Federer: Twelve Final Days

Hi @ Mellamelina, just wondering, what is your rationale for adding a new paragraph for a critic in the critical response section vs. adding the review inline? xRENEGADEx ( talk | contribs) 08:22, 27 June 2024 (UTC) reply

Ease of reading, but you're free to change it. Mellamelina ( talk) 08:42, 27 June 2024 (UTC) reply

Alexey Zakharov

Hi @ Mellamelina, your article Draft:Alexey Zakharov is significant, here is a Russian-language analogue: ru:Захаров, Алексей Алексеевич (теннисист) , but it should be called: Alexey Zakharov (tennis), because in the Russian-language section of the Wiki, there are 14 articles about different Alexey Zakharov - see: ru:Захаров, Алексей. Zboris ( talk) 16:18, 23 July 2024 (UTC) reply

I see what you mean, but I don't believe it has to be titled "Alexey Zakharov (tennis)" because there are currently no other articles with that name on the English-language Wikipedia. It would be an unnecessary disambiguation. See WP:DAB. Mellamelina ( talk) 18:07, 23 July 2024 (UTC) reply
Yes, but compare these search queries:
  1. Alexey Zakharov,
  2. Alexey Zakharov.jpg.

Imane Khelif article

Hi, there are several reliable sources who have said that Imane Khalif is not a transgender person. I read the article's talk page and there are only one IP addresses requesting that information be removed.

Why remove it?

Could you also explain why you removed the information about the rights of transgender people in Algeria?

Esterau16 ( talk) 21:01, 1 August 2024 (UTC) reply

@ Esterau16: Of course she's not and there is nothing that suggests she is, so why insist on adding the word "transgender" to her biography (based on some "counter speculations" about "baseless speculations")? As for the rights of transgender in Algeria, what does that have to do with her? M.Bitton ( talk) 21:07, 1 August 2024 (UTC) reply
There is massive misinformation on internet that she is transgender. This is more than enough reason to clarify in the article that she is not transgender. Please also note that there is a paragraph in this article that may lead many people to wrongly think or conclude that she is a transgender person: «According to International Boxing Association (IBA) president Umar Kremlev, DNA testing of Khelif and other athletes "proved they had XY chromosomes and were thus excluded from the sports events».
