I recently posted the following text on Wikipedia regarding the creation of a new computing-related project in Wikipedia:
' WikiProject Java is a Wikipedian community that aims to better organize information in articles related to the Java programming language and its platform.
- If I'm cor-rec-to, there are about 900 articles on Java technology in Wikipedia, which may be more than ALL other programming languages articles combined...
- At least, it's more than for C++, and there IS a C++ WikiProject...
- And it's MUCH more than the .NET WikiProject with 82 articles...
- There is also a Python project and a Ruby project so...
- Now you can also see a proposal for the Java Portal (temp location).'

Small note: I'm not entirely sure how this works, but I think, since it is said 'This is an automatically generated cleanup listing', that your edits on page Wikipedia:WikiProject_Java/Cleanup_listing are not so valuable; the next time WolterBot goes on, they could be wiped out... If you absolutely want to document your Cleanup edits, I would suggest maybe the 'Done things' section of page Things you can do. -- AlainR345 Techno-Wiki-Geek 00:05, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
File:7166 Kennedy Animation.gif is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:7166 Kennedy Animation.gif. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:7166 Kennedy Animation.gif]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. -- Erwin85Bot ( talk) 15:56, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
Honestly, if it's a new book that hasn't itself been reviewed by anyone, I would say it should be deleted until such time as it is recognized by independent sources. I don't think it's enough to say that "Criticism of Wikipedia seems like an important subject." Thanks, NawlinWiki ( talk) 17:55, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
I have nominated Wikipedia - A New Community of Practice?, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Wikipedia - A New Community of Practice?. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. — KuyaBriBri Talk 23:16, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
We'd love to have a review of this for the Signpost. I think Thespian isn't planning on doing this any more, so it's all yours. If you're definitely going to review it, I'll probably request a review copy for myself so that I can offer useful feedback once you have a draft ready. Let me know.-- ragesoss ( talk) 15:26, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
1. What, when and where is that March academic conference on Wikipedia where the author will speak? 2. Could you e-mail me (use the "E-mail this user" link on my talk page) about a review copy? Book reviews are one of the things I do on the side. -- Orange Mike | Talk 20:10, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading File:Nokia 5230.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
{{
di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 72.88.41.244 ( talk) 01:48, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Get Out of Jail Free Card.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Wikipedia 9780754674337.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG ( talk) 17:35, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Wikipedia_9780754674337.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse ( talk) 12:13, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (
consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot ( talk) 19:46, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading File:Cloudsoft-monterey-management-console-screenshot.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. -- ImageTaggingBot ( talk) 16:06, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
I have tagged File:Cloudsoft-monterey-logo.png as {{ orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. Otherwise, it will be deleted in seven days. Melesse ( talk) 06:20, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
You need to notify the articles creator when nominating an article for deletion. I don't really understand your reasoning in the first place. Also, the user that created them has over 320,500 edits and, thus, presumably knows what they are doing. -- John Reaves 04:28, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

site bans,
topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The
arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to

Sweets, I'm in the middle of a day of editing the Vita article. Could you wait for tweaks until I've had done? It gets very confusing if two editors are working at the same time. I do appreciate your work but have read through for errors in my new work yet. Best wishes Anna ( talk) 21:15, 9 December 2017 (UTC)

The article Cloudsoft Monterey has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. In particular, the
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion.
