I see you're interested in starting an RfC; there are instruction about how to do that at Wikipedia:Request for comment. I'd recommend against the question you've posted on the talk page, because it is too narrowly focused. If you don't want to ask something like "At what point should we stop listing the line of succession", then at least ask: "Should we list Viscount Lascelles as number 47 in line, or not?" Focusing on the synthesis argument isn't necessarily enough to justify the addition to the list, since there are other objections (such as What Wikipedia is not).
