King, happy to help contribute to the Argentine football section. Hope you rest up in this offseason and come back ready for the new season. -- Discus26 22:12, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi, KotNE! The article Juan David Moreno, who is claimed to play for Millonarios in the Copa Mustang, has been recreated after being prodded as being unverifiable. Do you know of any sources that might be used to verify that this chap exists and has actually played for Millonarios? Cheers, -- Malcolmxl5 ( talk) 15:00, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
Hey there, KING, VASCO here,
I saw your reverting of my edit on Roger García Junyent, as i wrote Retired in currentclub, and you removed it, claming it was "...not a club". Sorry if i screwed up, but i have seen tons of articles where it appeared, and thought it was a pattern. And it does make sense after all, because i think it would be the same that has to have - CURRENTCLUB - NONE ("none" meaning the same as "retired").
Anyways, sorry for any incovenience, have a nice week,

I noticed that you have moved several rugby categories such as ‹The template Category link is being considered for merging.› Category:Widnes Vikings players to other names. It is usual practice to propose such moves at WP:CfD, if there is consensus for the move the category can be moved automatically. Changing them in the manner that you have been doing destroys the page history, could you seek consensus at CfD before you carry out any more page moves? King of the North East 23:45, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
I've still not the hang of this User talk, but here goes... There were about 40-50 players in ‹The template Category link is being considered for merging.› Category:Widnes Vikings players and 40-50 players in ‹The template Category link is being considered for merging.› Category:Widnes Vikings rugby league players. As the majority of teams in ‹The template Category link is being considered for merging.› Category:Rugby league players by club have the suffix rugby league players, I thought it best to move 'Widnes Vikings players' manually into 'Widnes Vikings rugby league players'. If there is an automatic move, that'd be great as there are a number of other anomalies between '...players' and '...rugby league players'.
Regards

Well, at least we have a truce. Keep up the good work on the Argentine articles by the way! Also, if you've got the time, I'd appreciate more input into a proposal at The Treble (see latest section in talk page). Cheers. Sillyfolkboy ( talk) 02:57, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Hi KOTNE. I understand why you removed the PRODs, but I still feel the articles aren't notable, and so have taken them to an AfD discussion, where I have expanded my reasoning. Regards, Giant Snowman 01:51, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
I've left you a reply at the CfR discussion. Cheers. – Pee Jay 22:11, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
As of today, the article says 1961 and 1963... What is it? 1961 sounds more plausible... elpincha ( talk) 01:20, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Hello. Please do have some sense of respect before you make statements claiming errors on my talk page. The information in my user page is by no means associated as being a "storage facility" for course work. Hum, I hadn't noticed that. The account has the bot flag set, it's marking its edits as bot edits, but looking at Special:RecentChanges, the edits still show up on the list. However, it appears that I'm not the only one having that problem, as I see at least one other bot on the list. Thanks for letting me know, I'll bring it up and see if I can get someone to answer. Where is Leales and how did you find out that info on the club's location. As far as I can tell from the La Florida y Luisiana.es page (can't seem to post a link to it) La Florida is part of Greater San Miguel (eastern side), although confusingly some of the links on the web page point to a La Florida to the south-west of San Miguel, between Concepcion and Monteros, but there's nothing there when you look at Google Earth. According to rsssf [ [1]] they are not playing in this year's 5th level interior, although they are listed as playing in that from the Wiki club list pages. Their website [ [2]] shows they are still active and playing in this year's Liga del sur (Bahia Blanca). Assuming this is all correct, should RPB move to the Local Leagues section of the list? Hello. Thank you for the barnstar. It is always a pleasure talking with you, and I'm glad you've taken the time to point me in the right direction in terms of making WP better. Sometimes, it seems like we are tilting at windmills, but it's worthwhile when there is a great community of editors like we have at WP:FOOTY. Best regards. Jogurney ( talk) 23:11, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

1. I'm in the process of adding some text to the Colon article, but can't see why I've got redline links for the 2 'seasons in Argentine football' links.
2. The 'seasons in Argentina' and 'Primera A' pages by season result in a lot of duplicated text. Has there been any discussions over whether both of these are needed?
3. How do you add accents etc to text, and is there no way for Wikipedia to automatically redirect if you type in the non-accent version e.g. if you start searching for union de santa fe it doesn't appear as it has an accent. Should accents always be included been as it is an English language version? Regards Eldumpo ( talk) 08:43, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Hi King. Reading the comments in the discussion page we made wiki:soccer , I noteced that my coment towards you may have been interpreted in two different ways (normal/offensive). I hope you know I didn´t ment to be offensive in any way. I just told you the thing about Yugoslavia not having belonged to Soviet Union or Warsaw Pact, but while reading it I noteced that you may have tought I was offended. Please don´t think so, and I´m sorry if I offended you. Please, you can count with me if ever you need any help with anything. Best regards. Filip FkpCascais ( talk) 13:57, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
Where did you get the 1973 foundation date from - the Spanish page says 1905. Did the original Juventud merge with 1 or more teams to become JA? Eldumpo ( talk) 11:12, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
1. I've added a note saying about their name change (see Sanjuanina list of champs for guide), which is slightly supposition as it could've been a merger, but at least it clarifies (see
1967 Nacional change) - couldn't find sources to confirm.
2. Is there any organisation from WpAf with regards to updating the List of Argentine clubs (based on 09/10 leagues), and then for each club their infobox and 1st para write-ups. I'm happy to split things by league with you or other editors, or is it just done as and when by individuals?
3. Do you know whether either of the 3rd level leagues is fully professional, and do you have sources confirming professional leagues in Argentina? (see Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Fully professional leagues)

Hi, its good to see you are editing again. I'd like to ask you about the criteria for the notable players section. The minimum of 50 games seems too easy to achieve for a player to qualify as "notable". For example I've seen that Leandro Fleitas is named as a notable former player of Argentinos Jrs. which is simply ridicolous. And the problem works both ways, for example with Antony de Ávila in Unión who played only 37 games but his histoy with his national team makes him worthy of a mention in the section.
Maybe we could state this as the criteria: "To appear in this section a player must have either played at least 50 games for the club, set a club record and/or played officially for their national team." And expand it to 100 games for bigger teams.
Anyway, what do you think? Greets. -- Fache ( talk) 21:23, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
Hi. To avoid making the article so enormous we decided with Discus26 that it was better to add 3 general references (see List of Primera División Argentina football transfers - 2009-10#General references) and only specific ones for the transfers which were not listed in any one of those general. Morales' transfer is specified in this general reference: [3]. I've been looking to verify the info and found this: derf says that Morales was released from his contract and Clarín blog names him in Arsenal's reserve squad. Hope I could help, greets. -- Fache ( talk) 21:49, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
Hello again. Glad to see that you are still editing, and it is good to hear from you. I will make a note to check those articles. It's actually quite disappointing because I had an exchange with Mario1987 a few months ago where he seemed to finally understand what he ought to do with footballer articles and that he even planned to help. Obviously, I was misled. Best regards. Jogurney ( talk) 22:18, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
Please, do yourself a favor and make up your mind. You wrote first, further removal could be considered vandalism and immediately afterwards you remarked, without sources it is not against the rules to remove them. That doesn't make much sense, as you're contradicting yourself. Anyhow, leaving that aside, here are some sources, just in case you need them:
Los Pincharratas:
El León:
El Orgullo de la Ciudad:
Tetracampeón:
Most of the references for Los Capos de La Plata, as you can see here, can be found in blogs, fotologs, message boards, fansites, and the like. I wonder if they could be included as well. It would make sense, since we are talking about fan support here.
Oh, and by the way, do note that other articles such as A.C. Milan, PFC CSKA Moscow, SV Werder Bremen, Paris Saint-Germain F.C., and others do not show any sources for the nicknames they refer to, so I'm sure Wikipedia's policy on this is not as strict as it would seem to be. -- 190.19.19.112 ( talk) 21:06, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
Hi. I read your comments in the AfD and think they are well-reasoned. As you guessed, I am concerned about precedent as angry supporters of a team are likely to make a POV-pushing article after each match where they feel they've been cheated (and I've seen it before). However, you are right to say that this article is particularly well-done and not pushing a POV. Also, there is a chance that future editors won't use this AfD as a precedent to create much poorer articles that do push POV. WP:FOOTY would be better served by developing a notability guideline for single matches, but as usual I suspect the larger WP community will ignore it. Best regards. Jogurney ( talk) 16:18, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
Hi, I just noticed that you removed some of my editings in the "Argentines of Italian descent" category. In particular, I was kind of surprised about the removal of Enrique Guaita and Alejandro Scopelli from this category because there are actually no doubts about their Italian descent. If you read their biographies and the "List of Italian football oriundi" in the Oriundo article, you will see they're Italian-Argentines or Argentina-born Italians like a lot of other Argentine football players who played in Italy back in those days (also nowadays): a lot of them even played for Italy football team (Guaita won a World Cup with Italy in 1934) and they're widely known as "oriundi" in Italy (for the meaning of this word, see Oriundo). I hope there won't be any misunderstanding about this, best regards —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.40.29.38 ( talk) 17:32, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled " Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead.
Using detailed edit summaries is the best way to ensure that your good faith edits are not reverted by recent changes patrollers or other wikieditors. Thanks!
