One of several previous welcomes I've received since May 2003, while contributing as User:67.100.123.77. I had just created President's Daily Briefing (back then it looked like this...:
Hi Kayaker. Just flagging with you that I've raised a query about adding photos to Death pages on the talk page. Nothing personal, I just foresee a space problem if that were allowed to be a general policy. Cheers JackofOz 12:40, 26 October 2005 (UTC)
That's a damn good find, that image - great work! Sherurcij ( talk) ( bounties) 01:34, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
Hi, just looking for a clarification. It looks like you edited the article on Aug 12 2005 to include a reference to "possible cameo appearances from Sora Takenouchi". Seeing as this is a Japanese children's cartoon character, it doesn't seem to make sense in the context of Garrison Keillor, APHC, Robert Altman, etc. Do you know anything more about this? Thanks. The Current Events Barnstar | |
I hereby award you this current events barnstar for your efforts to move Current events to a much better location, at Portal:Current events. joturn e r 22:04, 30 June 2006 (UTC) |
Keep up the good work. If you need any assistance with the move, I would be glad to help (go ahead, post a comment on my talk page, especially if the border color is yellow or green). I'll try tackling some of the things you outlined on Talk:Current events. joturn e r 22:04, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for awarding me a barnstar and for your offer of help. I created a to do list for the migration here. "Updating the currentevents-url in quickbar" is a non-urgent update required at some point, something I haven't researched how to do yet. Since you were the founder of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Current events you might find it interesting to help with that. Thanks again— Kayaker 22:30, 30 June 2006 (UTC).
If you decide to ahead with the move now, I think you should move some of the old month articles (e.g. June 2006) to the portal space (e.g. Portal:Current events/June 2006). The same goes with the templates that are only used on the current events portal. joturn e r 00:06, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
I created a mockup for a redesign of the Current events page (or rather its portal). It can be found here. Please post your comments regarding the proposal on its talk page. Thanks in advance. joturn e r 06:08, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
Since you are the founder of Wikipedia:WikiProject Current events, and will be (I have no doubt) a future admin, and as someone with good ideas about improving the layout and organization of the portal, please consider adding yourself as a maintainer of Portal:Current events at Wikipedia:Portal/Directory#History. While I've been a Wikipedian and regular contributor since it has about 100,000 articles, 99% of what I do is done without logging in and therefore outside of the community. All of these reasons as well as your enthusiasm for current events, portals, etc. lead me to hope you'll consider identifying yourself as a maintainer. Kayaker 18:33, 2 July 2006 (UTC).
Thanks for the kudos! Also, thank you for the heads up on the talk page. This is now the third time I forget to fix that after archiving that page. I need a better "check list"! Awolf002 22:12, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
Specifically where do I nominate a page for inclusion in this template? I believe that July 2006 in video gaming (current events in video games) deserves inclusion. Morgan695 01:51, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Since you were in support of the the redesign of Portal:Current events, but also in support of archivals in the mainspace, I'd like to invite you to look at a a comment I made. joturn e r 01:48, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Portal:Current events, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{
hangon}}
to the top of
the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on
the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact
one of these admins to request that they
userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.

I have nominated Portal:Current events, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Portal:Current events. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Pookeo9 Talk If you need anything 22:43, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
Portal:Current events, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Portal:Current events and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Portal:Current events during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Pookeo9 Talk If you need anything 22:45, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
