Thanks for uploading Image:Pc-load-letter.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{ GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{ Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Ted 18:00, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
Hi Keeleysam, would you consider withdrawing your nomination for adminship please? It is very unlikely to succeed, and multiple oppose votes have a tendency to offend. I'm sure you added the nomination in good faith, and congratulate you for doing so. Have a read of the
guide to requests for adminship if you would like to nominate yourself for adminship in the future. --

Greetings!! I'd like to welcome you to WikiProject Numismatics. Anything you see that can be improved upon, go for it, anything that is lacking add it, anything that is all together absent, please fill us in. There are quite a few knowledgeable people of both numismatics and wikipedia, in this little project, so don't hesitate to ask. Please be sure to read through the whole of the project pages, as we have just recently started using some of them.
You already have the banner on your page, so no need for the middle part that I took out. :)
Do you knw what's going on with this image? It won't display at all, but the image is still there when I click on the file. And isn't this older than one day? And why are there four revisions?-- Here T oHelp 13:00, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
I see the execellent work you did with the White Sox logo. I would like to help do more logo work like this for the rest of the MLB teams. I see that your source was [1]. I found that the Cubs' is [2] and the Brewers' is [3]. Do you know where these came from or what the two letter codes are for the other teams? — Linnwood 02:29, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:AMD Logo.svg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

I posted the basis of my suggestions for this topic a short time ago here as well as pointing out this posting on each of the pages that you suggested merging. Have a think about my suggestion and then let's see if we can agree a way forward. I think my solution will work well. Let's discuss it at the Project Philately as we might get some more well versed people involved. I know Stan Shebs has already give his agreement. Cheers ww2censor 04:33, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Hi Sam, I noticed the great job you did on the vector version of the US Presidential Seal, a task I failed miserably at. I've marked a number of SVG logos you have uploaded as copyright violations. Please read WP:FU, it says that only low-resolution images qualify as fair use, and SVG images are not low-resolution by definition. That said, I think you should refrain from uploading SVG logos and linking to them from the articles. Copying all contents of Brandsoftheworld to Wikipedia is not a good idea either. Conscious 06:41, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
I have nominated Image:Northwest Airlines Logo.svg for deletion at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion/2006 August 10. This Brands of the World logo doesn't seem to be resampled from the official Northwest Airlines logo at all. This may be a copyright violation, but that's not my reason for deletion—it's that it's just a very poor imitation. See Talk:Northwest Airlines#Northwest Airlines SVG Logo for more details. Thanks for uploading Image:GE Inspira.svg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Thanks for uploading Image:Amtrak Routes.svg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Hi there. I just wanted to give you a heads up that I returned the logo to purple. See [4]. The company's official logo has been purple for years. They have continued to use the reddish one on the front page, and they've given various reasons over the years (most common of which it's the most familiar). Aside from the front page, however, purple is pretty much always used now (even with products, not just corporate-related issues). Justen 20:40, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Chicago Sun-Times Logo.svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:38, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Apple Store (Online).PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:50, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading Image:Burger King Logo.svg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. As part of an effort to clean up Category:Images_that_should_be_in_SVG_format, I recently converted this image to an SVG. I noticed that you posted a message on the image talk page asking if an SVG could be produced. I also noticed that you posted the said message in 2006, more that a year ago, so you may not care anymore, but I thought you should know.
The images in question look like this:

I have tagged Image:YouTube_Homepage.png as {{ orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. If this image is being used as a link target instead of displayed inline, please add {{ not orphan}} to the image description page to prevent it being accidentally marked as orphaned again. Thanks for uploading Image:Nokia_Logo.svg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{ GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{ non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:43, 22 July 2007 (UTC). I really think that a red Yahoo! symbol is better than none at all. The new color is proven red, but you insist it is purple. Though it may have been purple many years ago, you still don't show the purple one on there, there is instead no picture at all.
Also, it is like searching "Windows" and seeing the Windows 3.1, 98, 2000, ME, XP, etc. rather than the newer symbol, which is shown.
And we do not show a screen-shot of Windows XP or one of the other previous systems, but a picture of Windows Vista.
Now if there was no picture at all on the Windows wiki page, would we keep it with none and if someone were to add a picture of Vista and new Windows symbol would you delete it?
You make a measly argument, and I believe the red logo is what it is, and if it is not then at least have the purple rather than nothing!!! Xeysz ☼ 22:55, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Saw your changes to {{ user Canadian}} and wanted to say nice job on the image. An SVG leaf from the Canadian Flag as well made as that one will surely see a lot of use. BigNate37 (T) 03:54, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
thanks for changing it! im not very good with images. Smithcool 12:33, 4 August 2007 (UTC).
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:WITS Cover 2.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 23:28, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading
Image:AMD K6-III Processor Logo.svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a
claim of fair use. However, the image is currently
orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed.
You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see
our policy for non-free media).
Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:06, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to the August edition of the U2 WikiProject Newsletter. As you may have noticed, we are now doing themed newsletters. This one (if you haven't already guessed) is How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb. Every month the newsletter will have a different theme. There will also be a special edition when the new album is released. Also thanks to Neranei for some of the U2 news.
We have two new members since the start of the month! They are Vero444 and MC. We now have 38 members!
More info from the album page here.
Last month's newsletter incorrectly stated that there were 34 members. This should've been 36. Also, under the "U2 News" section, line 3, instead of saying most recent single it should've said most recent song (this has since been corrected). The editors sincerely apologize for any misunderstandings this may have caused. The correct version of the July newsletter can be found here.
All members of the U2 Wikiproject please note that voting for the next collaboration of the fortnight starts on THE 12TH OF AUGUST. Please visit the collaboration department for more details. |

On front cover of All That You Can't Leave Behind is a very subtle Biblical reference. In the background J 33-3 can be seen. This is a reference to verse 33 of chapter 3 of the book of Jeremiah: "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and hidden things which you have not known." |
Welcome to the September Edition of the U2 WikiProject Newsletter. The theme for this newletter is " All That You Can't Leave Behind". We hope you enjoy reading it!
Our new members this month are Keeper76 and Jort227. We have now reached 40 members.
Take a look at the All That You Can't Leave Behind article for more info. |

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Adidas Logo.svg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{ GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{ non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use.
If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:58, 7 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Amdahl Logo.svg.
See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Image:3Com Logo.svg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a
claim of fair use. However, it is currently
orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed.
You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see
our policy for non-free media).
Thanks for uploading Image:MacOS 152mm 4c.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:57, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Wheel_Of_Fortune_Puzzle_Board_(2006).png. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Hiya! i've noticed that you uploaded Image:ABIT Logo.svg. How did you get it to show up in the image page, and the article page? I can't get my SVG image that i uploaded ( Image:American Broadcasting Company Logo 2007.svg) to show up at all, without clicking all the way to the file on the server. What i mean is that you are able to have PNG-format thumbnails for ABIT Logo.svg, and i'd like to know how to do so for American Broadcasting Company Logo 2007.svg as well. Would you be able to help me out with it? RingtailedFox • Talk • Stalk 00:03, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading Image:Timothy_D._Cook.png. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
{{
di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rette tast 21:47, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Kubuntu_Logo.svg.
Hello there, I see you are on the 24 WikiProject. It's been quite dead for some time now, and me personally, I intend to revive it. I considered maybe even a 24 Portal, i see the project founder hasn't been on Wikipedia for nearly a year. What are your thoughts on the project? Are you still interested in it? And would you help revive it? Let me know, I would intend to help out a lot, maybe "take over" the founders position, well not take over, but possibly help lead the project? Was just a thought and I wanted your input. My talk page would be the best place. Cheers, Steve Crossin (talk) (anon talk) 19:46, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Image:EBay Logo.svg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{
hangon}}
to the top of
the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:EBay Logo.svg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact
one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you.

Hello, this is a message from
an automated bot. A tag has been placed on
Image:MTV Logo.svg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be
speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because
Image:MTV Logo.svg is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see
Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting
Image:MTV Logo.svg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at
WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the
bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click
