You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, quick check ) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Hello, Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of Phi Kappa Psi brothers/archive1 was listed 20 days ago, and is now also listed as one of the "nominations urgently needing reviews." So far four reviewers have weighed in. All objections have been met. There are two votes of support, and none opposed. As per The Rambling Man, "typically, although not prescriptively, Dabomb or I will look for around four votes of support." He also suggested that I contact "regular reviewers" such as yourself to see if you would be willing to comment. I'm happy to address constructive criticism. Hopefully upon resolving critiques, if you believe that the list is worthy, you will also grant support. Thanks, NYCRuss ☎ 17:02, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

I see you removed the " " from the museum article in Paris. I request that you put it back.
The museum is being stingy with the details. The truth is that they are closed because of the theft. Technical reasons is an excuse and a vague explanation. That would be like saying the President of Nigeria, His Excellency Mr. Yar'Adua, will not be attending the dinner due to medical reasons. Yes, medical reasons, he's dead.
So you wrote "removed quotes around "technical reasons". As it is, makes it look like we are questioning the validity of the closure". Yes, we are. To be the most neutral we can write that the "museum is closed citing 'technical reasons' ". Suomi Finland 2009 ( talk) 21:09, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
I replied to your question at the discussion linked above. And no worries about Turku Castle, I'm sure everyone appreciates your help with running FPC.

We are half way through round 3, with a little under a month to go. The current overall leader is Sasata ( submissions), who has 570 points. He leads pool C. Pools A, B and D are led by Hunter Kahn ( submissions), Sturmvogel_66 ( submissions) and White Shadows ( submissions) respectively. Anything you worry may not receive the necessary attention before the end of the round (such as outstanding GA or FA nominations) is welcome at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews, and please remember to continue offering reviews yourself where possible. As always, the judges are available to contact via email, IRC or their talk pages, and general discussion about the Cup is welcome on the WikiCup talk page.
Two of last year's final 8, Theleftorium ( submissions) and Scorpion0422 ( submissions), have dropped out of the competition, saying they would rather their place went to someone who will have more time on their hands than them next round. On a related note, a special thank you goes to White Shadows ( submissions) for his help behind the scenes once again. There is currently a problem with the poster, perhaps caused by the new skin- take a look at this discussion and see if you can help. The competition has continued to tick over well with minimal need for judge intervention, so thank you to everyone making that possible. Good luck to all! Hi! Since you are familiar with reviewing Lists of National Treasures of Japan, I thought you could help out with the following... List of National Treasures of Japan (archaeological materials) is presently a featured list candidate and marked as Nominations urgently needing reviews which means that it is in danger of failing the nomination due to a lack of reviews. I'd be happy, if you could have a look at the list and leave comments, questions or suggestions at the nomination page. The criteria to be checked against are found here. Thanks. bamse ( talk) 14:24, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
My opinion is only my own, and in any case there's nothing wrong with including the picture in the article. But I'd predict that the following objections would be raised against the argument that the photo has EV for the subject of the statue: - Only a small minority of the area of the photograph is devoted to the statue at all. - A statue, while it has artistic merit, is not the most encyclopedic way of depicting what someone looks like. A photograph, or barring that a portrait, is generally better. The only featured picture of a statue that comes to my mind is this one (nommed by me, although I didn't take the photo), where the EV mostly comes from depicting a detail of the Brandenberg Gate. If there were an article about this statue, then this photo could have good EV. Another thing-- are you sure that the statue itself is not covered by copyright? Can't always take that for granted: [5] Spikebrennan ( talk) 02:46, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
Sources I just figured that I'd let you know that http://allgoodnaysayers.net/ might shut down soon. Between wget now and Internet Archive later, you could probably get any info you want, and you might be done editing the article on Illinois, but if you're still interested in working on this one, it's worth checking out their sources now. — Justin (koavf)❤ T☮ C☺ M☯ 21:39, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
It seems that you neglected to replace the image in the Hemingway bio. Am I mistaken?-- TonyTheTiger ( T/ C/ BIO/ WP:CHICAGO/ WP:FOUR) 13:49, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
Hi! In regards to the pic, try sending a message at User talk:Djarizpe13 - He may not respond there, but the photo credits are to "Daniel Arizpe" so if you find an e-mail address it would be helpful to contact him.
In regards to the possible location, Sabine Park's view is here - It seems likely that this was taken around the park, as the Continental Center I is to the far right both in the Google Maps view and in the Arizpe pic. WhisperToMe ( talk) 03:20, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but that's just ridiculous. Even if that's the rules as written (which, officially, it isn't- "For promotion, if an image is listed here for about seven days with four or more reviewers in support (excluding the nominator(s)) and the consensus is in its favor, it can be added to the Wikipedia:Featured pictures list."- it clearly had that) this should have been closed as a promote. We're half way through 2010, and the end of the WikiCup is in sight! Round 3 is over, and we're down to our final 16. Our pool winners were Ian Rose ( submissions) (A), Sturmvogel_66 ( submissions) (B, and the round's overall leader), ThinkBlue ( submissions) (C) Casliber ( submissions) and TonyTheTiger ( submissions) (D, joint), but, with the scores reset, everything is to play for in our last pooled round. The pools will be up before midnight tonight, and have been selected randomly by J Milburn. This will be the toughest round yet, and so, as ever, anything you worry may not receive the necessary attention before the end of the round (such as outstanding GA or FA nominations) is welcome at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews, and please remember to continue offering reviews yourself where possible. As always, the judges are available to contact via email, IRC or their talk pages, and general discussion about the Cup is welcome on the WikiCup talk page.
Though unaffiliated with the WikiCup, July sees the third Great Wikipedia Dramaout- a project with not dissimilar goals to the WikiCup. Everyone is welcome to take part and do their bit to contribute to the encyclopedia itself.
If you're interested in the scores for the last round of the Cup, please take a look at Wikipedia:WikiCup/History/2010/Round 3 and Wikipedia:WikiCup/History/2010/Full/Round 3. Our thanks go to Stone ( submissions) for compiling these. As was predicted, Group C ended up the "Group of Death", with 670 points required for second place, and, therefore, automatic promotion. This round will probably be even tougher- again, the top two from each of the two groups will make it through, while the twelve remaining participants will compete for four wildcard places- good luck everyone!
