Hi there! I responded to your feedback request. Hopefully my feedback will help you with your article. Best of luck! :) Pianotech ( talk) 00:28, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
I was initially puzzled by the post above mine, but I now see that you asked twice about the same article.
Both of us gave you advice about referencing - that is important to address. You can refer to the links either of us gave, but I just looked at the Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, and it is probably the best place to start.-- SPhilbrick T 22:51, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
I love your enthusiasm, but it might be a bit premature to be giving others advice, especially on references. Ironically, you are doing something I very much want to encourage; I obtained a file of people who asked questions at Feedback last year, so I could encourage them to return and repay the favor. I just started this project in the last couple of weeks. However, it does take some time to learn some of the intricacies of this place. One does not "number the footnotes", the numbering is done automatically, if you write the citations in the proper format. I hope this doesn't come across as negative - goodness knows we need more help in the feedback forum, but I hope you will get a little more experience first, or be careful to stick to things you are sure of.-- SPhilbrick T 23:08, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:OCCU-340x170.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

There's no evidence from the source [1] that this image has been released into the public domain. Do you have something else to prove this image has been released as you indicated? -- Hammersoft ( talk) 14:21, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Hello. Your recent long-term abuse report has been rejected because it does not meet the criteria for inclusion. The user you have reported has not abused Wikipedia, so he cannot be added to long-term abuse. The instructions were very clear, so please read them before reporting another user. Thanks for uploading File:OComCU 4c vert.JPG.jpeg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{ non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor ( talk) 14:24, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Welcome to WikiProject Oregon! If you have any questions, drop a line on my talk page. Looks like your first article is fairly well-formed. tedder ( talk) 01:13, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Welcome to WikiProject Oregon! If you'd like, you can add the WP Oregon userbox to your user page using this code: {{ User WikiProject Oregon}}. Check out the ongoing and archived discussions at WT:ORE and be sure to add the page to your Watchlist. If you are new to Wikipedia, it's a good idea to browse through the core principles of Wikipedia as well. The project home page at WP:ORE has many useful links to get you started. The recent changes and recent discussions links will display recent edits on articles within the project's scope. Welcome!
I noticed the link you added to the article for an image of Cedar Lake, I was wondering if you have it up for review for possible upload at commons ? If not I would like to give it a try. Also thanks for the edit it helps. Mlpearc powwow 19:43, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
Well now that I see your talk page you probably do, but if not I would still like to get it in the article. Mlpearc powwow 19:45, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

<font=3> Want something to do this weekend? I propose a WikiProject Oregon weekend photo blitz! Let's try to fill up the
List of parks in Portland, Oregon as much as possible by getting out and taking our own pictures or finding ones online that can be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. The pictures uploaded will not only benefit the aforementioned list, but they will be used for future articles about specific parks and will fill up the
Parks in Portland category over at Commons. Get your cameras ready! |

At Wikipedia:Pending changes/Straw poll, your signature is messed up. It shouldn't take up the whole page's width or cause a line break. Can you please fix it or just make it the default? — fetch · comms 01:28, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
French Pete, which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.
Thank you for helping Wikipedia! Chzz ► 20:28, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
Hi. As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. This new poll is only in regard to this issue and sets no precedent for any future usage. Your input on this issue is greatly appreciated. Off2riorob ( talk) 23:38, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

I just wanted to pop by to thank you for your help with this CCI. Your input is much appreciated! :) -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:31, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
Because the block on the IP address my account was using was supposed to expire over 3 hours ago:
Hey, how about instead of just tagging images for deletion, you take a novel approach and actually help phase in the newer fair use rational templates, it takes the same amount of time as tagging for deletion. The end product is a reference work with images in-place and the reader wins. If you don't want do it for me, imagine your doing it for yourself. That way all you added won't be deleted in 5 years when a new template come along or some new magic-word is demanded in the rationale. Maybe that future person will fix your images, instead of just tagging them for deletion like your doing. If adding the new template is too much of a burden, you could spend an equal amount of your time and notify me on my page that you just tagged an image for deletion. If your just tagging and not fixing or notifying, your just enforcing rules for the sake of enforcing rules. I would rather we work together to have the best reference work available instead of you measuring your success by how many images you tag for deletion each day. -- Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) ( talk) 02:10, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.
You're the right person; you volunteered, and you've been diligent about it. We all have room to learn about copyright; if it were simple, cases would never get to court because lawyers wouldn't fight. :) Just take it on board, and know that, fwiw, I am still very grateful to you for answering my request for volunteers. I don't know if I'll ever be fully comfortable with our image NFC rules. Some of them make sense to me; others, not so much. Richard has never been particularly gung ho about this process, but my goal has always been just to sort what needs fixing from what's good and call it a day so that there are no more lingering concerns.
Anyway, I'm heading out of town tomorrow, so if I don't get a chance before then, let me wish you a Merry Christmas, presuming that doing so is appropriate. If not, happy winter holiday of your choice. :D -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 20:30, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
![]() | On 31 December 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Spruce Production Division, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that during World War I the United States Army recruited over 28,000 soldiers for the Spruce Production Division, which harvested Sitka spruce in the Pacific Northwest? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
