Hi professor, this week I work on a film Farewell My Concubine. I find there is a “citation needed” mark that the Chinese government banned the film in China when it was released. I do some research and find an article in the New York Times about the fact and the reasons, and add it as a citation. I also add some words to improve the statement. Hey everyone, I am Aashima a student in third semester MASY program. Taking the RPM class was not a choice for me but I have learnt a few really interesting things so far in this class. I completed the training modules for week 1 and week 2 about how to copyedit an article on wikipedia and what is the purpose of doing so. Now each time I will use wikipedia I think I have developed the 'eye' to not just overview or simply read the article but to 'scan' through the information and catch any grammatical errors in there. If it wasn't for this extra credit assignment I would have just read and hopped onto the next webpage. But now if I see any error, thanks to my learnings from this, I am definitely going to correct that just as Professor Keefer said "that knowledge sharing, like karma, benefits both the sharer and receiver" [ [1]] is the link of the article I copyedited. I made 2 corrections of a double spacing error in it and added a citation as well. Aashima99 ( talk) 22:58, 2 April 2022 (UTC) Here is a link showing the differences I made.[ [2]
For the second article I chose [ [3]]. I thought this will be a good insight for me as I am working on pay gap for my main assignment as well as it resonates with something I firmly believe in and want to know more about- How are women discriminated against in various forms and how do we empower them. Here is the link for the difference I made to the article on 'gender wage gap in India'[ [4]], [ [5]]. I also made a change in the first line by adding the word 'sector' and labor market 'in India' but that is not showing up in the link somehow. I learnt that it is extremely important to back up your claims(whatever you're making in your research) as if it is not done so, it could prove to be troublesome on a variety of levels. Besides, a research paper's job is to present concrete facts to the reader, and that should be done in the most responsible fashion. Aashima99 ( talk) 02:51, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
I chose to revise an article on Gauri Khan, one of Bollywood's biggest superstar - Shah Rukh Khan's wife and one of the most famous celebrity in India. I corrected a few grammatical errors that were there in this article. This is the difference link [ [6]] Aashima99 ( talk) 02:44, 3 April 2022 (UTC)

Hi!
For this week I chose to update and edit an article about a race car driver who recently won the Daytona 24 hour race. The link to the page is here: /info/en/?search=Devlin_DeFrancesco
The article had outdated information about his best Daytona 24 race performance, stating that his 5th place finish in 2019 was his best performance, hence I deleted that information and added that he won the 60th running of Daytona 24 in January 2022. The citation I used for this edit is an NBC Sports article listing all the winners of the different race categories of the 2022 Rolex 24 race.
The link to the diff page is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/?title=Devlin_DeFrancesco&type=revision&diff=1081041927&oldid=1078268095

Hi professor, this week I edit the article A Chinese Ghost Story. I notice there is a “citation needed” in the introduction part, I type some keywords and find a journal article that matches this citation need. The article talks about Hong Kong films, and the relationship between comedy films and cult films, taking A Chinese Ghost Story as an example.

Dear professor, for week 4, I assign myself a new article, The lion king.
And I noticing that under the "stage adaptation" section, there could be more details to add in. since The lion king tells a story based on African culture background, and to celebrate it, the broadway show specifically claim that there will be six African languages sung or spoke in the show. For week 4's assignment I chose to edit an article on academy awards- the most in-trend topic after Will Smith publicly thrashed Chris Rock. At a certain point in the article, there was a claim made that oscars' all white nominee list reflects bias and lack of diversity. No matter how true your claim is, you need to have it backed up by evidence. That is the one thing that I have learnt in this class after almost 5 weekly assignments! I kept making claims in my paper based on gender gap, passionately, forgetting that for academic research purposes, I need to have supporting evidence.
