Hi Books & Bytes recipients: The Wikipedia Library has been expanding rapidly and we need some help! We currently have 10 signups for free account access open and several more in the works... In order to help with those signups, distribute access codes, and manage accounts we'll need 2-3 more Account Coordinators.
It takes about an hour to get up and running and then only takes a couple hours per week, flexible depending upon your schedule and routine. If you're interested in helping out, please drop a note in the next week at my talk page or shoot me an email at: jorlowitzgmail.com. Thanks and cheers, Jake Ocaasi via MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 23:41, 20 June 2014 (UTC)

Hi EricSerge! Thanks for reverting my mistake on Audie Murphy honors and awards. WP:USERNOCAT doesn't apply there. I was trying to fix User:Maile66/sandbox3, and didn't notice it was just a transclusion of the article. GoingBatty ( talk) 04:40, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2013 Australia Day Honours, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Wing Commander. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

You reverted my changes to the Canadian Victoria Cross.
I updated it based on a official government source [1]. Does it refer to a different Victoria Cross?

I understand your point about NOAAS Gordon Gunter (R 336), and I thought of that myself, but I do a very large number of ship articles for Wikipedia and have found that there is already a de facto standard on Wikipedia of starting with a ship's U.S. Navy career (also usually her first incarnation) as her main article and then adding in her later stints with the Coast Guard, NOAA, private service, or whatever. For ships of Gordon Gunter's class, I'm trying to standardize the appearance of the articles for each ship so that they follow a common format that will be less disconcerting to the average user, rather than having some articles default to the first incarnation of the ship and others to later incarnations. Redirects and the way I have constructed each merged article seems to create a clear narrative, and there is no particular advantage to have Gordon Gunter's article follow an alternative logic of having the ship's second career as her titled article. After all, with all the redirects set up properly, anyone will get to all the information with a single click anyway. I hope this makes sense. Mdnavman ( talk) 19:22, 3 August 2014 (UTC)mdnavman
As your comment appeared to be replying to mine ("as you admitted"), I just wanted to make it clear that my comment was not primarily directed at you but was more motivated by User:Carolmooredc referring to "deletionists" and my reference to you was only meant to say that I believed that you, like me, were operating in good faith. My apologies if I failed to convey that. My remaining comments were meant to express my sometime frustration with what I view as the limitations of the existing guidelines while still noting that we are operating under them and that I, thus, still agreed with the partial merge I advocated above and which you carried out. 24.151.10.165 ( talk) 16:57, 2 August 2014 (UTC)

Dear Eric,
if you have a look at the recent MoH recipient "Bennie G. Adkins", what medal do you think is meant in his biography by "Vietnam Bravery Medal with brass star"? Can you possibly tell? I found nothing on the internet... Again, keep up the great work! claudevsq ( talk) 19:04, 17 October 2014 (UTC)

I see an IP recently added a cite to the current US Navy uniform regulation online to the V Device article that refers to the Combat Distinguishing Device as being a bronze letter "V" (section 5317), as opposed to it being gold as we've had it in the article for some time now. Do you have any thoughts on that? Regards, AzureCitizen ( talk) 00:57, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
Hi EricSerge:
Following sent to Hugo.arg / E rulez & Windom with ref to Lithuanian Wiki (& how to get through?):
Happy New Year and I trust you may be able to help advise about Jonathan Hill, Baron Hill of Oareford for Lithuanian Wiki? As one of the EU Commissioners (for 2014-2019) from time to time information regarding Lord Hill should prove of much interest to Lithuanian readers, as with info about Catherine Ashton.
Is the following template (which can be resent in better format), prepared with assistance from my friend Jekaterina, of assistance to Lithuanian Wiki? Looking forward to hearing from you.
