Butler Pike

Your verbal description of Butler Pike is terrific! I grew up about a 1/2-mile from it in Plymouth Meeting, and can visualize each landmark and turn as you narrate it.

I wasn't sure how to handle Fayette Street in Conshohocken. Conshohocken was carved out of Plymouth and Whitemarsh Townships in 1850, but the route to the river dated to at least 1712 and Simon Butler.

The History section does work better after the Description section. Best, == BoringHistoryGuy ( talk) 16:06, 24 January 2020 (UTC) reply

Thanks! I do a lot of work on road articles, especially in the Mid-Atlantic states. Dough 4872 19:29, 24 January 2020 (UTC) reply
I understand your point, except the name Trenton Cutoff has a 125+-year local history, and Morrisville Line already redirects to Trenton Cutoff. Best, == BoringHistoryGuy ( talk) 01:14, 26 January 2020 (UTC) reply
I still think we should use the current name of the line since the route description is describing the route as it is today. At the present time, the railroad line is owned by Norfolk Southern and called the Morrisville Line whereas in the past it was owned by the Pennsylvania Railroad and called the Trenton Cutoff. Dough 4872 01:20, 26 January 2020 (UTC) reply
I'll add both. The Trenton Cutoff was elevated following Thomas Hovenden's death in a Plymouth Meeting train accident. So it's also local history. == BoringHistoryGuy ( talk) 01:44, 26 January 2020 (UTC) reply
Of course that's true, but is that what is meant in the table by a township line? I think most people would erroneously read PA 73 as the boundary between townships. == BoringHistoryGuy ( talk) 17:48, 29 January 2020 (UTC) reply
The table should show what municipalities the junction lies in. It doesn’t matter whether the road the article is about or the crossroad forms the township line, it should be indicated the PA 73 junction lies on the border of Whitpain and Whitemarsh Townships. Saying it is only in Whitpain Township is misleading. Dough 4872 19:06, 29 January 2020 (UTC) reply

The I-295 Thing

Remember how in September ‘19, I wanted I-295 to be 3 seperate articles because it is in 3 states(Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania),and how it is normally 3 states, even for roads like I-87 where it spends a mile in New York? Well, now that I can create articles, can you help me with making them? Gale5050 ( talk) 20:07, 26 February 2020 (UTC) reply

No, we do not need 3 articles for I-295 when one article can cover the information fine. Dough 4872 21:21, 26 February 2020 (UTC) reply

Blue Route

Hola! Just wanted to touch base and note your correction to the Blue Route History subsection header, which I had revised when I added a citation to that paragraph. Someone had previously changed it, removing "Blue Route" from the title. Given the famous history of the contention over this piece of road under that name... I did the edit up there for the purpose of clarity. I think your call to change the heading as you did was the right one, but--I'm more of a public art person than a road person, so I went for the "compromise/include both" option. Pictures

I'm guessing you noticed that I've been putting new material here? https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Roads_in_Maryland Feel free to add/replace in articles as you see fit. I've also added to here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Roads_in_West_Virginia But I suspect that's out of your sphere of work. If so, that's fine, I'll get around to it eventually. Famartin ( talk) 11:45, 28 May 2020 (UTC) reply

Yeah, my traditional editing area is Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. I was switching out some pictures that looked better (i.e. better lighting). Keep up the good work with taking road pictures! Dough 4872 13:07, 28 May 2020 (UTC) reply

Invite to Revive WikiProject:Shopping Centers!

Hey there, Dough4872! I'm Windyshadow32, a new member of the sadly inactive Wikiproject Shopping Centers. I am trying to revive this project to highlight the unique stories of malls across the country and the world especially as we lose more and more of them. Undoubtedly, we will lose shopping malls due to the challenges we face at this moment. Your account was listed as involved in the project, and I would like to know if you would like to help revive it! Your expertise in launching articles and making them great is severely needed for this project to rebound. I can't take on this massive project without you! Please let me know if you'd be willing to help; I really appreciate it!

Please do not create hoaxes on Wikipedia, as you did at Interstate 95 Business (Wilmington, Delaware). Doing so is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Atlantic City–Brigantine Connector

Hi Dough, I see in the past you've helped contribute to Atlantic City–Brigantine Connector and I wanted to see if you were interested in working with me to get it to FA-status. A peer review was completed at the end of last year, and after a little tweaking and copyediting, it may be ready for FAC. Would appreciate your feedback and any assistance on working on this article. Thanks! – Dream out loud ( talk) 17:17, 9 October 2020 (UTC) reply

PA Route 307

I added a "To I-81" to the route description. I am not familiar with PA's confusing strait line diagrams so I wasn't able to add a mileage. So figured I would let you know so you could add it. Thanks, - 420Traveler ( talk) 21:25, 20 December 2020 (UTC) reply
