Beryl

Yea, I reverted you because you were copying the information from the Hurricane Beryl draft that other users were already working on. Wikipedia only works if everyone's edits are accounted for. ♫ Hurricanehink ( talk) 04:43, 1 July 2024 (UTC) reply

Redlinks

Hi Delectable1. Happened to see your notes on Jmabel's talk page. I'm not super interested in the issue but I'd just point out that if you don't think redlinks are appropriate at all, you probably need to argue that case (maybe at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)) rather than trying to remove them piecemeal. As of now WP:REDLINK is still a guideline, and it doesn't agree with you.

It's possible to argue the case that the rationale for redlinks is weaker than it used to be, and that they keep going on inertia, but if you want to do that you probably need to actually do it, rather than continue getting upset if you remove them and someone reverts you. -- Trovatore ( talk) 00:35, 12 July 2024 (UTC) reply

Cool talking with you. Maybe it continues. As for links... I welcome your interest. 1. Red links do not belong in tables. What is the point? 2. As for them being anywhere, two points. a) They exist because when an article is removed the words are still there. Point blank. b) If they are to be more permanent then what is the criterion for such? Also there are other things on here (Wikipedia) which could (should) be solved. Among them two are the use of images and permissions. People on here object to any usage of first names when disambiguating names too. Delectable1 ( talk) 06:25, 12 July 2024 (UTC) reply
Redlinks that come from a link that pointed to an article that used to exist, but was deleted, should indeed be removed. The closing admin is supposed to clean that up, I think, but might occasionally miss some.
However that's not at all where all redlinks come from. Some of them are there because the person who added them thinks an article ought to exist at that title.
As for whether they should be in tables, I haven't thought about that much. You might look and see if WP:REDLINK says anything about it. -- Trovatore ( talk) 20:33, 12 July 2024 (UTC) reply
