Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited James Drax, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Planter. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hey, what's the basis for this edit? He was a pirate leader and his crews (as was the case for many crews at time) routinely included escaped slaves. I haven't seen any documentary evidence that he owned slaves... St★lwart 111 02:47, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
In fact, some versions of his history include stories of him as a slave. For now, I'll undo that edit on the basis that it looks like a mis-click, but happy to discuss. St★lwart 111 02:49, 24 September 2021 (UTC)

Hello. Thank you for
your contributions to
Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled " Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a
Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting

Have you considered nominating one of your articles for Featured Article status? I think they would be of sufficient quality to pass. AirshipJungleman29 ( talk) 10:45, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
On 29 October 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Jacobus Capitein, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Jacobus Capitein (pictured), who was sold into slavery at either age 7 or 8, promoted proslavery arguments based on Christianity? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Jacobus Capitein. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page ( here's how, Jacobus Capitein), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hello. I have noticed that you
often edit without using an
edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in
your preferences. Thanks!

On 23 December 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article John Custis, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that slave owner John Custis petitioned the Governor of Virginia to manumit a slave child whom he had fathered? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/John Custis. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page ( here's how, John Custis), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Thomas Savage (major), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Major. Hi there
I wonder if you would mind explaining your edit to this article? I actually have no opinion on whether it is correct, except to say that the distinction between 'withstood an attack" and "repelled an attack" seems somewhat substantive and an edit summary would have been cool ... But that is not my point, which is simply that I am trying to understand whether or not it improves the article. I don't think it does much harm if any, and have left it in place pending your response. Mainly, my concern is that I may need to make a decision about it if the editor who wrote it reverts you, so I am seeking information, thass all ;) Thanks.
Btw the article is being actively worked for promotion, so if you are familiar with the topic, or some of these battles, feedback is welcome. Elinruby ( talk) 02:09, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Category:Welsh slave trades indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 17:23, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Saint Kitts and Nevis slave owners requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi DonBeroni. Your edit to the category prompted me to contact you. I know very little about categories; it isn't something I've used much. I wonder if there is a more appropriate category for Tarleton.
I've been working on that article for quite a while and ferreting out facts from legends. I wouldn't say he was pro-slavery. He never owned slaves and was never involved in the trade. He actually freed a lot of slaves during the Southern campaign.
Later, as a politician he opposed the abolition of the slave trade. Tarleton represented Liverpool and the growth of that city depended on the slave trade. So, like it or not, he had to speak strongly against abolition in parliament. I'm still working on his political career so I can't yet say what he personally thought of slavery. However, I have yet to come across a statement in which he endorses the practice of slavery as opposed to the trade.
The difference between pro-slavery and anti-abolition matters little if you happen to be a slave. But I wonder if there is an anti-abolition category in which he would fit better. There might be others who could be categorized in the same way, although some editors would lump them all together.
I'm gradually upgrading the article although I admit to having slacked off recently. It's a difficult bio because so many stories have been told and retold without evidence.
Since you have upgraded other military biographies, I'd welcome any suggestions for Banastre Tarleton.

Hi DonBeroni, I hope you don't mind too much my reverting to the Victorian Turkish bath. This is consistent with the current clarification of the type of bath referred to wherever else mentioned on Wikipedia consequent on the separation a couple of years ago of the old "Turkish bath" page into two pages better describing two completely different types of bath, the VTb, and the Hammam.
Besides at this point in the film you couldn't more appropriately place the Victorian Blimp than in a VTb.
I retained the further mention of a Turkish bath as a shorthand version of something already stressed. Besides, in this part of the film he was probably in a club based on the RAC in Pall Mall which had special arrangements made for officers during the war and when the Jermyn Street Baths had already been destroyed in the Blitz. The RAC bath is actually a Victorian-style Turkish bath, but I suspect one can be a bit too pedantic! Best. Ishpoloni ( talk) 00:03, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

removed content from

It includes American slave owners that can also be found in the parent category, or in diffusing subcategories of the parent.
