CMM's

There was the start of a discussion at www.cmmguys.com/forum, but it hasn't been taken up on lately. I think the original thread was in the general section. If you think about it, you could try ober there and see if you can't rekindle interest....

Coordinate-measuring machine

Thanks for your great work cleaning up the CMM page.

In one of your last edit comments, you mention not being able to find DEA. It's http://en.wikipedia.org/?title=Digital_Electronic_Automation&action=edit&redlink=1 http://www.dea.it It's owned by Hexagon Metrology.

I don't know enough about DEA to make more then a stub of a page.

Let me know if you have any suggestions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Creuzerm ( talkcontribs) 15:52, 26 August 2009 (UTC) reply

Thanks for the compliment, but I haven't done much.  :) And thanks for the link to DEA. I've added them as a brand of Hexagon. And, sheesh, it appears they own Brown & Sharp and Sheffield now, too. Unfortunately, I know almost nothing of the field (the reason I hit the CMM article was to find out what a CMM was!), or I'd start a stub on Hexagon.— DragonHawk ( talk| hist) 23:16, 26 August 2009 (UTC) reply
I work for Hexagon Metrology in the Marketing Department, so I am struggling with trying to keep my edits very factual so they can't be misconstrued as merketingese. Hexagon Metrology is the big player in the CMM world, and now own a great many companies that manufacture CMMs. I do believe there is an article on Hexagon Metrology floating about. Each of the brands is pretty autonomous of the others, so they really are separate brands. This also explains why I don't know much about DEA, as it's an Italian brand. I deal with the US brands much more. Mike ( talk) 16:29, 23 September 2009 (UTC) reply
