That's perfectly fine. Good luck on your exams! Malinaccier ( talk) 17:52, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Hey Cameron, thanks for standing up for me. I wouldn't mind Scotland using country, if England, Wales and Northern Ireland used it too. It's consistancy across those 4 articles, that I prefer. Oh well, at least the maps are in sync. GoodDay ( talk) 17:23, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
SoxBot V has been taken offline indefinitely, therefore {{ Statustop}} now uses a semi-manual updating method taking the status from Special:Mypage/Status. You can use the Qui monobook script written by TheDJ to update this page at the click of a button.
Certain parameters are no longer used, so you may wish to check the documentation of the Statustop template to ensure you are using it properly. Please feel free to drop by my talk page with any questions or concerns or to report problems with the template. Happy editing, xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 13:58, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Heh, thanks! :D And you're right, the Queen has four royal residences in the UK: Windsor, Buckingham Palace and St James's Palace in England and the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland. She's leaves Wales out. :( I'm not sure then where she stays while she's visiting Wales; I can't find anything about her stays there. I'll keep looking though, but there's an answer to the question. :) Best, PeterSymonds (talk) 17:47, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks Cameron! -- Jack forbes ( talk) 13:46, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
No prob, Cameron. GoodDay ( talk) 13:46, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
Was always crap at maths. Thankfully I dont worry about exams anymore. I do enjoy study and I'll probably do something. Psychology perhaps. Australia is still here. We're starting to tire of our golden boy, Kevin Rudd, already.-- Gazzster ( talk) 14:32, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
I've moved it to Castles in the United Kingdom. As the redirect had no history it could've been done by anyone. :) If you want "British Isles" I think that's a bit more controversial, so I would recommend WP:RM. Considering all the castles listed are in the United Kingdom it seems prudent to keep it there. British Isles suggests the whole of Ireland, but the list only has Northern Island. Just my thoughts anyway. :) Best, PeterSymonds (talk) 16:28, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Nope, there's no royalty in my blood lines (at least, none that I know of). I'm still surprised Old Germain's got an article; it wouldn't surprise me if it got deleted. Congradulations, on your ancestor having an article (an image included, aswell). GoodDay ( talk) 20:59, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
In the 1840 United States presidential election, the Whigs (who's candidate was Harrison) slandered the Democrats candidate (incumbent) President Martin Van Buren for the Van in his name. They presented Harrison as a 'man of the people' and Van Buren as aristocratic & thus out of touch with the common man. GoodDay ( talk) 14:44, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi. This is in relation the following comment you made on the Science desk:
We shouldn't be providing any form of medical advice including the potential impact of certain treatments. The main reason is that results may vary - what works for you will not necessarily work for someone else. Zain Ebrahim ( talk) 17:33, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
I wish I could share you optimism, on those 4 articles agreeing to 'fall in line'. There's editors out there, who are against having them in sync. GoodDay ( talk) 19:21, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
You opposed in the neutral section. Not sure if that was intentional. cheers, xenocidic ( talk) 02:06, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Hello Cameron, since the discussion began on the Scotland talk page I have suspected that Fonez4mii has been using ip 84.13.166.40 ( talk) as a sockpuppet. I have made a report here and would be grateful if you could take a look at it and tell me if you are of the same opinion or not. Thanks. Jack forbes ( talk) 07:40, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, I have to confess I have no idea what Template or how to add it. First time doing this. Jack forbes ( talk) 13:41, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks Cameron! Jack forbes ( talk) 15:07, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Yep, but I never had any concrete evidence in those cases. I only gave 'comment' postings, nothing really of any help. Generally, those cases are quickly solved with a Checkuser. GoodDay ( talk) 19:32, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Hey, just wanted to let you know, that, per your request, I have approved you for access to the toolserver tool :) Let me know if you need anything! SQL Query me! 19:03, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
He may yet return. He just has too be less sensative about Wikipedia; one just has to relax, stay calm, be cool & ride the Wiki waves. GoodDay ( talk) 20:09, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Seeing as the British Empire was mostly (if not all) monarchy in nature; my interest would have to be freelancing. PS- I can't remember how I inducted myself at WikiProject Commonwealth realms (p.s- I still wish we would've included the Commonwealth republics, giggle). GoodDay ( talk) 20:37, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Just curious, why are we listed as having become members on March 21? GoodDay ( talk) 00:10, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
I not only signed the petition, I responded to Fonez and the person defending the one who closed the discussion. Also, it is difficult to read the participant chart at WP British Empire. If you want to keep the colour, maybe you can change the colour of link text (or ignore me, which is always a valid option). - Rrius ( talk) 06:26, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Hey, check it out Cameron! I lost the plot! A wee/big drink in me and the truth comes out. If I'm going to retire I might as well go with all guns blazing. Jack forbes ( talk) 00:19, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
I'm keeping my fingers crossed, in hopes that someday constituent country will be adopted by all 5 articles (UK, Scotland, Wales, England & Northern Ireland). GoodDay ( talk) 15:03, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
I've also had diacritics clashes at the Ice Hockey articles. If you drop in at Wikipedia: WikiProject Ice Hockey, you'll see what I mean. GoodDay ( talk) 20:16, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, that looks good. Hopefully, the doubts will be put to rest. PS- Too bad, Jack lost self-control just before departing. GoodDay ( talk) 17:18, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
It can get very emotional (these kind of discussion). Months ago, I was suggesting a group-ownership of the Scotland article (that's how upset I was). GoodDay ( talk) 19:57, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
Very impressive, I must say! Well done. No, I haven't heard anything of Tharky for a while. Shame.-- Gazzster ( talk) 14:25, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
You've read my mind. I was just about to leave a message at his page; asking if he was still around. GoodDay ( talk) 14:49, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
There has been a long centralized discussion at Talk:United Kingdom, in which it was decided with 83.33% consensus that constituent country would be used to describe England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. However, users at Scotland are saying that they will not accept a consensus made on another page, so I would like to inform you that there is now a similar vote on the Scotland talk page. Cheers -- fone 4 me 20:44, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

For a) managing to keep your cool throughout the argument, b) working acting with a continuous NPOV, and c) researching to find such a policy that will save us all from hours of further arguing ;) -- fone 4 me 07:51, 23 June 2008 (UTC) |
Don't quit Wikipedia! I (and the community) really valued your tireless effort and mediation skills at Talk:Scotland. Perhaps you could do with a WikiBreak but please don't leave WP for good! Regards, --Cameron (t|p|c) 18:56, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Thank you very much for your kind comment here. I have returned... I like to write. But I shall not I think participate on the contraversal Soctland and Wales pages anymore, I felt too targeted and followed by someone there. But again, thank you very much... it was very much appreciated.

Sorry but I dont remember editing anything British. I am not interested very much. Thnak you. ( cantikadam ( talk) 20:09, 23 June 2008 (UTC))
I don't know who the IP is, but he/she seemed to be pointing a finger at me. Anyways, I won't loose too much sleep over it. GoodDay ( talk) 20:10, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
I think Jack will be back, as he's not blocked. But, perhaps (for his sake) a Wiki-break will benefit him & Fonez. GoodDay ( talk) 20:26, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi there. This notice is to inform you that a Request for Arbitration has been filed regarding the ongoing cultural dispute between User:Yorkshirian, yourself and several other editors. The Arbitration Committee will decide on whether this case should be heard and pursued. Thank you. — KieferSkunk ( talk) — 20:45, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Hiya.. there's a bit of a brouhaha over at Talk: Prince William; your input has been requested. Prince of Canada t | c 13:29, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Yep, it's a jungle out there. GoodDay ( talk) 19:00, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
I have an editor review going at WP:Editor review/Rrius, and GoodDay said you would be a good person to have do it. I feel a bit awkward asking to begin with, so don't think I'll take offense if you'd rather not. (Is it offense or offence in BrE?). I'd really appreciate if you could do a review, as it looks like a lot of people only get weak responses there. Either way, see you round the Commonwealth articles. - Rrius ( talk) 21:56, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your review. I did respond there because I was unfamiliar with something you said. Anyway, after the nonsense about subdivisions of the UK (which just won't end!) and some wearying brushes with some other editors, it was good to get some positive feedback. It was a real shot in the arm during a weekend in which (despite not editing that much) I have been attacked by someone who was overreacting to my reverting his POV edit, passive-aggressively challenged from an emotional POV by a guy who knows one of the gay couples married in Greece because I want him to provide verified sources (especially annoying since I am straight and have little emotion at all on the topic), and misrepresented by a guy who suggested that I kept responding to people's suggestions by saying there was a consensus when all I said was that they needed to lay-out non-arbitrary rationales to gain consensus. Since I started that sentence, the last guy has started a Mediation Cabal thing; this place can be tiresome. - Rrius ( talk) 07:24, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
An Arbitration case involving you has been opened, and is located here. Please add any evidence you may wish the Arbitrators to consider to the evidence sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Yorkshirian/Evidence. Please submit your evidence within one week, if possible. You may also contribute to the case on the workshop sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Yorkshirian/Workshop.

Indeed, I'm the go-to guy. However, since the status bot got blocked, I've been unable to think of another method to auto-update the status' in the tables. A workaround was presented to the developers by Cobi, but it was shot down. The best I've been able to come up with is to just link to everyone's contribs, so someone could see if that particular editor has edited recently. However, that idea isn't great.
