HELP
{{Helpme}}
After editing several pages, (Please see my history, please, and let me know what you think..) I have tasked myself the
David hash page, originally without knowing how recently it was tagged. After looking about online, I have seen that the text of this page is nearly the same as a
myspace page of the same name. There appears to be opera related information on this page, on
http://www.davidhash.com/, and on a few other pages I Googled. However, these pages were in Italian. Is there a way to find an interpreter of Italian, or someone knowledgeable in modern opera/modern Italian opera who can check on this?

Regarding
this edit, there's nothing "confusing" about what's been done. OK, I'm not in the best of moods at the moment, but really, there is a limit to how much "Good Faith" you need to "Assume".
Perhaps my
response is a little "over-the-top", but I do tire of namby-pamby "warnings" that say nothing.
No, it's not your fault, you didn't commit the vandalism, but if you are going to say something, I feel you should at least say something ...

No problem for the reverting, I guess it all was good in the end, with him getting blocked. Tis' all good! :) Andy ( talk) 12:47, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
you left this message on my talk page and I would like to comment in reply:
"At least, that's what this and Huggle say. Now, I'm not saying that you really deleted all the content, but a reasonable amount of information was removed(AS far as I can tell - I could be wrong.) and this content was well referenced and had appropriate style. Be that as it may, yours certainly appears to have been a 'good faith' edit, and there is something to be said for the more simple presentation of your version, as well as brevity, as opposed to verbosity. However, in the future, I would highly advise discussing any major changes of this nature in the relevant pages' discussion section. I'm also entirely aware that I could have made a mistake, and may not be looking closely enough.. Did you move those citations and other info to somewhere else, on a related page?"
I am wondering abuot your Huggle tool. I rewrote the section and did not delete anything. Actually, I moved things down and then rewrote parts of it and interspersed my own writing with what was there. When I saw the difference between the pages, I saw that it lookedl ike I had taken what was there, removed it, and then added some more, because it picked out words from the original paragraph and picked out words in my new paragraph, and then assumed that my new paragraph was a removal of the old one, instead of a new pargraph and the old one had been moved down. I am wondering what tripped the automatic tool, because I did not remove information, I just added some that made it seem like I did. Can the tool not detect for adding sentences? Does it treat each paragraph like a different paragraph? I am concerned about getting automatically reverted in the future.

Sorry, but actually I am the leading authority on the topic. I put references in the original changes and the Greeks have just removed the text. To avoid reverting, I have put new text without references. Please don't tell me how to write encyclopedia articles, because I write them professionally along with books and articles. What was written there before is propaganda and references student works, rather than the leading published works. And the Greeks know it too... Xenos2008 ( talk) 23:40, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
Indeed, it is disruptive to challenge the Greek POV, I know well in real life professionally. However, what was written there was amateurish and incorrect and I corrected it. The response of the greek editors is simply to remove anything that they dont like, even though it is factual, sourced and NPOV. I see no reason to debate with people with an agenda and no expertise. Xenos2008 ( talk) 00:51, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
Well, here we have the old Greek story again. Yes, there is a cultural problem in Greece, and it comes from nationalism. I have already told you my opinion, and you choose to accuse me of lying. You claim to know who I am and attribute casual comments on the internet to me, without reading any of my publications. Obviously you are in the camp of extreme nationalists, who cannot accept foreigners. Xenos2008 ( talk) 12:16, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Guild of Copy Editors
March 2012 Backlog elimination drive! Here's the mid-drive newsletter. Participation: We have had 58 people sign up for this drive so far, which compares favorably with our last drive, and 27 have copy-edited at least one article. If you have signed up but have not yet copy-edited any articles, please consider doing so. Every bit helps! If you haven't signed up yet, it's not too late. Join us! Progress report: Our target of completing the 2010 articles has almost been reached, with only 56 remaining of the 194 we had at the start of the drive. The last ones are always the most difficult, so thank you if you are able to help copy-edit any of the remaining articles. We have reduced the total backlog by 163 articles so far. Special thanks: Special thanks to Stfg, who has been going through the backlog and doing some preliminary vetting of the articles—removing copyright violations, doing initial clean-up, and nominating some for deletion. This work has helped make the drive a more pleasant experience for all our volunteers. Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 backlog elimination drive
Greetings from the
Guild of Copy Editors
March 2012 Backlog elimination drive! This is the most successful drive we have had for quite a while. Here is your end-of-drive wrap-up newsletter. Participation Of the 70 people who signed up for this drive, 40 copy-edited at least one article. Thanks to all who participated! Special acknowledgement goes out to Lfstevens, who did over 200 articles, most of them in the last third of the drive, and topped all three leaderboard categories. You're a superstar! Stfg and others have been pre-checking the articles for quality and conformance to Wikipedia guidelines; some have been nominated for deletion or had some preliminary clean-up done to help make the copy-edit process more fun and appealing. Thanks to all who helped get those nasty last few articles out of the target months. Progress report During this drive we were successful in eliminating our target months—October, November, and December 2010—from the queue, and have now eliminated all the 2010 articles from our list. We were able to complete 500 articles this month! End-of-drive results and barnstar information can be found here. When working on the backlog, please keep in mind that there are options other than copy-editing available; some articles may be candidates for deletion, or may not be suitable for copy-editing at this time for other reasons. The {{ GOCEreviewed}} tag can be placed on any article you find to be totally uneditable, and you can nominate for deletion any that you discover to be copyright violations or completely unintelligible. If you need help deciding what to do, please contact any of the coordinators. Thank you for participating in the March 2012 drive! All contributions are appreciated. Our next copy-edit drive will be in May. We have reduced our target group of articles—January, February, and March 2011—by over half, and it looks like we will achieve that goal. Good progress is being made on the overall backlog as well, with over 500 articles copy-edited during the drive so far. The total backlog currently sits at around 3200 articles. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current
Arbitration Committee election. The
Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia
arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose
site bans,
topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The
arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to
review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on
the voting page. For the Election committee,
