A question regarding this. Since when is that an authority on birds? To my knowledge all recent authorities use Australasian Figbird, including the primary Australian authority, Christidis & Boles, 2008 (Systematics and Taxonomy of Australian Birds - a fast overview of the NT species can be found on page 6 here). If you can point to any recent major authority that suggests the name Figbird remains the correct name for the Australian population, I would be interested in knowing about it. Of course old habits die hard, especially as some people will keep on using their old field guide published before the three-species figbird split became accepted, but that is hardly an excuse for sticking with the old name in parts of wiki, especially as it potentially can lead to misunderstandings (even more so because wiki is international, not just Aust). It is also of significance for the articles for the various figbirds, as they currently state that all major authorities recognize the three-species split. However, if I have managed to overlook a recent major authority that maintains the name Figbird for the Australian population, it would presumably mean that this authority doesn't accept the split (in which case "most", but not "all", accept the splits). Please keep any replies here, rather than on my talk. Thanks. • Rabo³ • 10:43, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi Bidgee. You may wish to take a look at the above article. Cheers, Mattinbgn\ talk 11:56, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi, I'm giving some attention to and getting necessary professional advice in this very specialised area. The image you added here has been identified as belonging to an Idiopid called Misgolas, not a funnel-web. Sorry, but I've therefore removed it. I don't know how to get the info changed on Commons, but will try to find out how. Cheers Bjenks ( talk) 07:55, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi, I wanted to follow up on the comment you left when you removed the link to 1300 Australia from the Telstra page. The 1300 Australia business is 85% owned by Telstra, has a Telstra-approved board and a Telstra appointed CEO (who happens to be one of the founding partners that Telstra reappointed to run the business). So the Telstra ownership is a bit more than a "joint venture" (even though I know you got that info from their site). Surely 85% Telstra ownership qualifies as a relevant link? And if so, what do they need to do to get their link back up? Is there somewhere where a company representative can send you proof of ownership information if you need it? They want their link back up. They asked me to pursue it. Thanks. You can contact me at fmackz@gmail.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.78.161.128 ( talk) 09:35, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Hello Bidgee,
I am aware that I did not cite a source for the edit to MasterChef; however, I have seen the episode and Julie is definitely the winner. I apologise for going against policy, and I will find a source first in future. Thanks, 114.77.6.119 ( talk) 08:07, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
I don't regard this as an edit war; I'm not reverted the article at any stage, but have undertaken several changes in order to make specific points that I believe are worth making, and to improve the English style of the paragraph in question. More than one person has reverted me without proper explanation, whereas I have always left an explanatory message (that I regard as polite) on the talkpage of these people. If you reply to me, please would you first compare this paragraph as it appeared before I got going with after my last edit of it - AG, Stockport, UK. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.53.69.150 ( talk) 13:59, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for you welcome and help with formats etc. I am slowly getting the hang of things, I think! Hope you enjoy the subject matter - skiing australia etc.

Hi Bidgee, have you received an invitation to Wikimedia Australia's GLAM conference? We are organising this conference on 6-7 August to meet with representatives of Australian galleries, libraries, archives and museums and we've got some great speakers lined up, including Senator Kate Lundy, Jennifer Riggs from WMF is coming out to give the keynote presentation, Mathias Schindler from Wikimedia Deutschland talking about image cooperation with the German Federal Archives, and various museum representatives and Wikimedia Australia people. The schedule is here and you can read about the conference here. As a contributor of Australian images and other content, you would be extremely welcome. Wikimedia Australia is also offering bursaries to help defray expenses for Wikimedians wishing to attend. Regards, Sarah 03:39, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

I know it is a bit complicated, but yeah - I actually phoned BOM in Perth some time ago and they linked me to the pages I subsequently used as a source. It's annoying as Perth's isn't all on one page like other cities, you actually have to look at the "by month" ones produced by BOM to get the stats. This is because of several changes in their setup in the last two decades, whereas in most other cities it's been fairly constant. The by-month info is used by both major newspapers and all TV stations/broadcasts as the basis for averages. Orderinchaos 02:03, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
I clicked that same button at that moment, the page popped up... and I thought YOUR edit was the one I had just made! Having, while the page loaded, decided a spam warning was more appropriate, I changed it. I am very sorry I changed your message. I assure you it was an entirely innocent and well-intentioned change... I thought I was changing my own. - sinneed ( talk) 07:15, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
what do u mean spam? i DO NOT spam this site, my site is similar to the other one which i listed before so why arent you deleting that one? i AM NOT trying to promote anything. i will do what you said then ill discuss it on the talk page............ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cutajarc ( talk • contribs) 13:05, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
The anon who is changing it is basing it on ISBN 097511459X, a written work which challenges the currently believed history. I haven't read it, but perhaps you might be interested in this? I wouldn't think of it as a reliable source though. -- De novo ( talk) 05:32, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Hi Bidgee - can you email me regarding pick up etc for GLAM - my intention is to leave very early Thursday and I have a big day tomorrow so the sooner I know and can therefore schedule the better it will be for me. Best wishes.-- VirtualSteve need admin support? 08:57, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Hi Bidgee, was excellent meeting you in Canberra and I'm really pleased you were able to come along and hope you enjoyed the conference. I will be processing your membership either tonight or tomorrow so you should receive some emails about that and the members list soon. :) Cheers, Sarah 05:07, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
Hi Bidgee just wondering
""This article may contain improper references to self-published sources. Please help improve it by removing references to unreliable sources where they are used inappropriately. (August 2009)""
what was this referring to?

hi bidgee, seeing that you are good with peoples false edits and spam and stuff i have a real problem right now. Shiroi, Chiba's sister city is the City Of Brimbank but someone keeps changing this on Shiroi, Chibas page to Shire of Campaspe which is not true because on the City Of Brimbank's page it says Shiroi, Chiba is Brimbanks sister city and on Shire of Campaspe's page there isnt even a sister city listed. Meaning that the sister city of Shiroi, Chiba should be Brimbank? Look on the history of Shiroi, Chibas page and the early version even says Brimbank but Serendip625 keeps changing it. Please speak to me rather continuing to warn me. I was not aware of canvassing, nor was I being biased, and all talk areas where input was requested were relevant to Virgin America. I also offered to stop and tried to explain but you wouldn't listen. What can you do to help and prove to me that you are assuming good faith if that is what you are in fact doing? Please actually reply rather than another warning. That is unproductive. 68.52.42.38 ( talk) 05:48, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Junee, New South Wales. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Bidgee (talk) 05:16, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Regards you comment. I have moved the content between sections and deleted the reference to the passing freight traffic which was fairly obvious and add to Junee's current economy. To say that Junee has passing freight rail traffic says nothing about Junee. Apart from this I will add comments where I remove any content. I assume your message is a standard one because I am well past the need for using the sandbox Chrisfromcanberra ( talk) 07:32, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Sorry Bidgee, I thought that adding my personal opinion would help show that I don't have an exactly neutral view of the subject so it can then be edited to a more neutral stance. I did however try to make it as neutral as i could didn't think it read to anti bunnings lol.

What I added to the page is fact. Not opinion. Unless you have better knowledge of the situation and have been to over 100 of their venues, like I have, you are unqualified to delete facts. The link to a reporter's article simply substantiates the fact. I thought this is what Wikipedia is supposed to be about. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PokieWatch ( talk • contribs) 19:31, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Removal advertising like content, Unsourced and not encyclopaedic
here are some examples of the same content on other pages
Is there anything that would need otherwise be removed for the "deleted content" to be reapplied, ie; the advertising slogans? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Liamlllively ( talk • contribs) 09:59, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
