Thank you very much for the kind words in your review, I appreciate it as well as the question. Cheers! Into The Fray T/ C 03:44, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
I am new to wikipidia, and have been accused of sock puppetry, proved my innocence, and recommended mentorship.I do NOT vandalize and I am oposed to it.I am getting stressed out so I think I need an adopter.-- Mary Di Valerio 18:12, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Arky,
I haven't created many pages but however, I have mainly been doing the editing. Although I did Create one page for KKYR And one I get to know wikipedia better I plan on creatinng more pages. As for Partrolling Vandals yes I do check the pages and make sure that there is not any. Unfortunately though I haven't had very good luck in catching them.
And lastly I would like to eventually become an administrator.
If you have anymore questions or something I forgot to mention feel free to ask me.--

Hey Arknascar44 i hope that you can be of assistance! I am an administrator at a great elementary school in Harlem NY we are trying to set up a wiki page for our fourth grade to learn how to research and publish internet articles. I have tried not only to create an article for the page but also a user page. I thought that schools could create pages for their students to work on wiki, allowing them to save articles and share their school work and other miscellany. I recently tried to update our page to be less 'biased' after being flagged, but the admin who flagged us suggested we seek an adoption to help us along. Maybe that can be you! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! [````] —Preceding unsigned comment added by Harlemacademy ( talk • contribs) 02:45, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your earlier reply. The fact is that we're the company BoomerangIt and someone else has created a Wikipedia account with our company name as his user name. We understand this violates the Wikipedia policies. We do not know of this user and have never provided him with our authorization to use our name. We want this user to stop using our company name as user name and to create our own account with username BoomerangIt. Your advise how we can do this is greatly appreciated. Thank you. I saw that earlier today, and was planning to respond after the Signpost was finished today. What I'd like to see is a sample -- profile a WikiProject (let's say Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography, to start). Write up what you think would be a good WikiProject profile; I'd like to see something that's both interesting and informative, but the specific makeup is up to you at this point. I'll let you know what I think when it's done. Ral315 » 02:06, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Thank You

The template is malfunctioning. It is producing an extra return that forces the closing parenthesis in (age 3 months 14 days) to show on a separate line. Also the text on the Template page is not making sense since there are 32 days does not make sense.-- TonyTheTiger ( t/ c/ bio/ tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 21:17, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Quoted from User talk:Anomie: | ||
“ | Anomie, titan of programming, canst thou assist me? =P I'm having trouble with {{ age for infant}}. I'm trying to add a parameter that will allow months, days, etc. to be abbreviated. For example, if {{{abbr}}} is set to "yes", then all instances of "months" become "mos.", "days" become "dys.", "year" becomes "yr.", etc, etc. I've tried playing around with an #ifeq function, and a #switch, but it's the weirdest thing; when I put them in the template, it messed up the whole switch function I have in there already. Any ideas? Cheers, ( ar ky ) 02:55, 5 October 2007 (UTC) | ” |
Heh (: I've fulfilled your request, but it looks like you have done something else in the mean time. My version also has two additional changes:
It's also quite a bit smaller, since it pushes a lot of the work off onto other templates (like {{ age}}). Feel free to copy it over if you like it (and be sure to fix the existing uses for the new order if so). BTW, if you're curious, I had to fix bugs in {{ plural}} and {{ age in months}} to do this. ;) Anomie 21:24, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for helping me with that template. After I made my request, I was thinking I didn't explain it well enough, but you knew exactly what I wanted. I went ahead and made it here - Template:Tlrow2. Now I can get back to cleaning up those template example pages. If you have time, please take a look at my template page and make sure I did everything right. I didn't know if I needed a /doc page or anything else. Like I said, I never made a template before. Also, if you can, remove the extra space between the two output templates. I would like for them to be stacked on top of each other, but I don't know what to change. (I think it just needs one less <br />.) Thanks again! Rocket000 21:03, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
Hey, I've modified User:Arknascar44/Love Cabal so that users can specify where exactly the icon is placed. {{ User:Arknascar44/Love Cabal}} will still place it 10px from the right and 5px from the top, but {{User:Arknascar44/Love Cabal|right=70px|top=20px}} can be used to place it elsewhere, for example (if there's no value for something, it'll just revert to the default.; {{User:Arknascar44/Love Cabal|right=30px}} will just shift it over to the left a bit more than the default, while staying on the same vertical plane).
I'll leave it to you to put the documentation note on the page, though. EVula // talk // ☯ // 06:25, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
Arky...quick question. When I look at your talk page, you have a large smiley face floating on the left side of my screen, covering up the WP nav buttons. Is this a function of the fact that I'm on a wide screened laptop or is it where you want it to be? Into The Fray T/ C 00:52, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi Arky! Since all Scientology related articles have been put under editing probation, the edit warring has died down considerably and some semblance of sanity is taking effect. So, yes, you may close the mediation. If anything flares up in the future, we can also open a new case. Thanks for your help.-- Fahrenheit451 03:54, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I just edited the Talk:Lightweight_Directory_Access_Protocol page to note that the reference [1] points to a a non-freely downloadable article: one can see the abstract for the article and must pay $29 to see it all. Is there a standard tagging/highlighting guideline to warn about non-freely-available external resources? I tried some searching into [Main Talk User User-talk Wikipedia Wikipedia-talk Help Help-talk] namespaces, but found nothing that fits (the tagging for non-free images really do not fits). Thanks for your friendly Talk page :-) R.traverso 19:29, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the answer! but hmm... this is turning into a political question... since highlighting the fact would be exposing a page to a clash with the guidlines, maybe there was not the community urge to decide a standard way to deal with this. In effect, in this case, the stated fact is not contained in the abstract, but I was not thinking at all at considering for its removal.... the fact, for my perspective is: I get to the wiki/LDAP page to browse on various resources on LDAP(as I would for other subjects)... maybe that reference is important and authoritative to the subject, I am not trying to find an answer to this in this case... but I, browsing the pages, would love to know this fact in advance before asking for the reference (especially in cases where many links are present and I would like to choose at a glance the ones that look more promising)... I realize that maybe to understand how to relate to this kind of questions I have to make up more experience on wikipedia. Anyway, also if my post is getting really huge, I want to ask for addressing on another class of problem, and I am getting a bit technical: this additional consideration is driven by the fact that maybe most users wants just the essential informations on a wiki page, and not the ones that would render the base infos less clear (and maybe other wants some more information, also if this can dirt the page a bit)... so: do you know if it is possible in wikipedia as it is now to have user-groups that have a view of the wiki pages different from the default ones, merging infos stored in an ad-hoc wiki page to that wiki pages that got some additional info registered (that would be a solution for this kind of reference highlighting fact: If one subscribe to the 'NotesAboutLinks' group additional content (e.g. more text, different underscoring...) is visualized in cases such as LDAP[1]). Thanks for the patience and for the space given to these considerations. R.traverso 09:24, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
