  • Nintendo:
    • Nintendo Entertainment System/Famicom or NES (lines 1 & 13): 18.95 million units sold in Japan (up from 18.87 million the previous year) and 42.55 million sold in other regions (unchanged from the previous year), for a total of 61.5 million. (Nintendo's final sales figures for the NES are 19.35 million units sold in Japan and 42.56 million sold in other regions, for a total of 61.91 million.)
    • Super Nintendo Entertainment System/Super Famicom or SNES (lines 2 & 14): 16.25 million units sold in Japan (up from 14.47 million the previous year) and 26.05 million sold in other regions (up from 22.06 million the previous year), for a total of 42.3 million. (Nintendo's final sales figures for the SNES are 17.17 million units sold in Japan and 31.93 million sold in other regions, for a total of 49.1 million.)
    • Game Boy (lines 3 & 15): 12.16 million units sold in Japan (up from 11.16 million the previous year) and 35.5 million sold in other regions (up from 32.35 million the previous year), for a total of 47.66 million. (Nintendo's final sales figures for the Game Boy are 32.47 million units sold in Japan and 86.82 million sold in other regions, for a total of 118.69 million.)
    • Virtual Boy (lines 4 & 16): 140,000 units sold in Japan and 630,000 units sold in other regions, for a total of 770,000. (The Virtual Boy was discontinued after this date, therefore this figure can be taken as final.)
  • Sega:
    • Sega Genesis/Mega Drive (lines 5 & 17): 3.58 million units sold in Japan (up from 3.55 million the previous year) and 24.96 million sold in other regions (up from 22.91 million the previous year), for a total of 28.54 million. (Sega's final sales figure for the Genesis is 30.75 million.)
    • Sega CD/Mega-CD (lines 6 & 18): 400,000 units sold in Japan (unchanged from the previous year) and 1.84 million sold in other regions (up from 1.82 million the previous year), for a total of 2.24 million. (The Sega CD was discontinued after this date, therefore this figure can be taken as final.)
    • Sega Saturn (lines 7 & 19): 2.5 million units sold in Japan (up from 840,000 the previous year) and 900,000 sold in other regions, for a total of 3.4 million. (Sega's final sales figure for the Saturn is 9.26 million.)
    • Game Gear (lines 8 & 20): 1.78 million units sold in Japan (up from 1.6 million the previous year) and 8.84 million sold in other regions (up from 8.65 million the previous year), for a total of 10.62 million. (The Game Gear was discontinued after this date, therefore this figure can be taken as final.)
