Turkel Design is an architectural design firm that specializes in modern custom homes using panelized prefabrication. They provide residential architecture services to homeowners in any location by designing and manufacturing a building component package, which is shipped to the building site and assembled by a specialized crew or a local contractor.
Turkel Design was founded in 2008 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, by Joel Turkel and Meelena Oleksiuk Turkel, [1] graduates of the Master of Architecture program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2023 the firm opened a design studio at CALA (Community Art Landscape Architecture), a mixed-use development housed in a former high school in Somerville, Massachusetts.
The firm is responsible for more than 200 home designs in 34 U.S. states and 7 countries.
