Hello there. This is The Random Editor. Recently a new wikipedian has been adding false info to the article Lincoln Southwest High School. The new wikipedian is named Editundo. Because his edits are not clear vandalism, and I do not want to violate the 3RR rule I would appreciate if you would revert his previous edit and inform him appropriatly. Thanks. -- Random Say it here! 23:47, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
Looks like the Page McConnell and Jon Fishman pics were taken from the main page Phish photo. Is there a way to also use that photo to create pics for the Trey Anastasio and Mike Gordon pages so each band member has a pic? I noticed you uploaded the others. Thanks, Jim —The preceding unsigned comment was added by OneLove1977 ( talk • contribs) 01:16, 10 May 2007 (UTC).
Thanks for uploading Image:DeathJrScienceFair.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:45, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Greetings Moeron. It looks like you are the creator of Category:Bob Weir songs. I think it would be a good idea to merge this category into Category:Grateful Dead songs. There's only one article in the Bob Weir category -- Born Cross-Eyed. I don't see a big benefit from breaking down Dead songs by who wrote them, especially since some of them were group efforts anyway. Merging Bob Weir songs into Grateful Dead songs would tidy things up a bit.
If that sounds agreeable to you, I can add the Weir songs to Categories For Merge. I just looked at WP:CFD, and I think I could muddle my way through the process. Or, if you have the time, perhaps you'd be willing to nominate it yourself. Based on your user page you seem to have a lot of expertise in this area.
Please reply here with your thoughts on this subject, I'll check back and see what you say. Thanks. -- Mudwater 01:08, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Are you really arrogant enough to think that Marc Daubert does not have an album out? Instead of deleting it, how about going to his website and shooting him an email or something. Plus, an album review and full interview with Marc are set for the May 2007 issue of Relix Magazine. Why in the heck would someone do this for a hoax? Youy're really starting to abuse your power, making Wikipedia look like fools in the process. —Preceding unsigned comment added by WomanManWomanMan ( talk • contribs)
Hi there - I deleted the tags because the tagging that's already there seems to me standard practice for album covers. Almost every album cover on Wikipedia just has that single tag, I fail to see a) why these album covers need explanations that so many others don't and b) exactly WHAT I would write for such a rationale that is not already there. It seems to me that all the rationale that's asked on the page you linked me to is explained in the standard album cover tag that is on all of these pages. Any help would be really appreciated, I'm honestly kind of lost here - thank you! AdamSolomon 02:19, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Got it - thanks so much! AdamSolomon 21:22, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

I believe I saw a few months ago that you gave the reasoning for not having pictures in discographies and I was wondering what that link was since I would like to explain my reasoning on the Dispatch page with some facts. If you could please either add it to Talk:Dispatch (band) or on my talk page I would appreciate it. Thanks! Plm209 ( talk • contribs • count) 18:47, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Please, when you upload Flickr pictures chose the HIGHER resolution available! Do not upload the thumbnail, but the ORIGINAL (and higher) size. Here you have a good tool to help the upload of Flickr images: http://wikipedia.ramselehof.de/flinfo.php . Thanks! Dantadd ✉ 01:28, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Kudos to your attempts to rv the Martin Turner worshipper. I have asked Admin Wiki alf to intervene on that article in the past. I was holding off asking for his assistance again today as I have a good "Wiki-friendship" with Sir Alf and I hate being a pest to him.he's busy enough I don't care to "backdoor" all my troubles(although I find WP:ANI can be slow and sometimes the backdoor works much better) You've asked for a semi_P for the article. It's kind of funny since the fancrufter(in the form of Diamond Jack) requested page prot earlier today. I orginally pegged Diamond Jack as a SEGA sock. I don't believe that to be true anymore.(in case you have noticed before... I believe you have... myself and my other colleagues here at the library where I work are VERY good at spotting Mr. S... but I digress) The 212 range and the 80 range have been very persistent in their fanboyisms. Besides D_Jack they also edit under the name Laborious. Again, thanks for the help. I have lots of Admin friends besides Wiki alf. Hopefuly policy, community, concensus and reason will win out here and I won't have to bug any of them. Ahoy! 156.34.231.30 22:22, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
I'm sure changing the pic to a new edit is a good idea, but I don't want to step on Alison's toes with this. Since I've edited the article once already I'm not completely interest free, at least in the history. I'd recommend you post ithe suggestion on the article talk page, also ask her on her talk page and if she agrees, then I'll do it if you guys need me to. For the vote of confidence over at WP:ANI. Many admins are familiar with the Wiki-librarian gang here at 156.34. But many aren't and your positive words are more than welcome. Just the other day my personal "static IP" got another Barnstar(which I accept on behalf of my colleagues) And at the same time that IP talk page got hit with a whiney cry-baby complaint from a user who is currently blocked for a month... and editing unlogged. I tell Admin Wiki alf all the time... With all the conlict, humour, anger and community here on Wikipedia... who needs television? There's enough entertainment right here! Ahoy and again, thanks! 156.34.209.39 02:28, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Hmm, they certainly do smell, but from what I can see they have already been tagged for various reasons. Based on the users contributions, it does not look they will resolve the issues put forth for the various images, so they will most likely be deleted in the next few days. If there are any album covers that fall into there, let me know, since they can be easily sourced and rationaled using All Music Guide. Otherwise, images of bands and band members are usually replaceable with a free-use image. -- moe.RON Let's talk | done 04:24, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Hello there, I am a fellow member of Wikiproject jazz. I was wondering, if you had a moment to spare, if you would be willing to give your opinion on a matter at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 June 15 concerning a category I created. The category is [[Category:Jazz musicians of New Orleans]], and it has been proposed that the article be merged with Musicians of New Orleans and American jazz musicians. This is precisely why I created the category, because it seemed to me the birthplace of jazz music and continous modern symbol of jazz certainly deserves a category unto itself. Regardless of your opinion, I would greatly appreciate your input there so as to have a discussion over the matter. Thanks. ( Mind meal 03:24, 15 June 2007 (UTC))
Hi Moe.ron (I hope that's the proper spelling!). I would like you to revisit the RfA debate Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/DrKiernan which you participated in a couple of days ago. You are of course fully entitled to your opinion but quite a bit of discussion has developed there and in particular DrKiernan has explained his reasons for being an admin in fuller detail and a number of people have tried to explain that "no need for the tools" is not a relevant objection. So if you have a minute, can you please take a second look? Thanks, Pascal.Tesson 20:15, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
I noticed your efforts at Deadhead, and thought you might be able to fix the problem with the references to "celebrity heads". There's something wrong with the formatting of that section causing several of the references to appear as one.
If you have the time to do that and a minute to spare, let me know where I went wrong. Thanks.

Question. RunLikeAnAntelope and Steph11 are both very obvious SEGA puppets. And both have voted on numerous AFD's relating to nn Phish articles. Thus tainting the debates on all of them. How does Wiki handle that one? 156.34.142.110 15:17, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

I see you have put my article James Stunt for deletion. It is my first time using Wikipedia so I may not have presented the article very well. All of the information I have presented is factual however, as I personally have read articles on him in both The Daily Mail, and in Tramp magazine. You wouldn’t find much on goggle but in elite society of London he is the talk of the town. I know personally all of the facts I have presented to be true as, I am acquainted with many of his circle of friends and business associates. If you have some suggestions on how I could present it to not look like a fan base and to make it more objective then I would really appreciate your help and assistance. You are clearly a seasoned Wikipedia user and I would be very grateful for some help instead of it being deleted, if you goggle tramp magazine and look at the front cover of their debut edition his name is on the front page. Thank you for your assistance in this matter it is very much appreciated. Xambia -- Xambia 03:37, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading Image:TristanPrettyman.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. -- moe.RON Let's talk | done 16:10, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
I uploaded the picture I took of her. I added the note that I took the picture and I gave myself permission to use it. I also added the note that said I was allowing the picture to used by anyone and placed in the open usage category.
Any you still removed it. In fact, this is the second or third time someone has removed it.
What do I have to do to post a picture I took on Wikipedia?

If I am reading things correctly... free-use images from Commons always wins out over promo pics with fragile fair-use rationale... right? At least I think I'm right. I am trying to maintain "free-use wins" in the Megadeth article. I am battling with the FU image uploader. + a fly-by user who just likes what pretty regardless of policies and guidelines... etc. Could you intervene for me and check out the fair-use upload for discrepancies. I personally think it's not "stickable". Thanks. 156.34.219.175 01:00, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
The
WikiProject Guitarists Newsletter | |
Hey everyone! It's been quite a while since the last newsletter went out but it's time to tune up those guitars, set the amps to 11, and rock out a bit. Or for us old guys, put on the fingerpicks and set the amp to 3. A lot of people have been laboring away at guitar articles and their efforts are to be applauded. If you haven't edited in a while, why not pick an article from Category:Stub-Class guitarist articles and expand it? Or better yet, pick one from the article requests and create it. More tasks can be found on the main project page in the WikiProject Guitarists open tasks box. I went through the member list and moved anyone who hasn't edited a guitar article in two months to the inactive section. If you're getting this newsletter, it means you are still in the active list. Could you take a peek at the image uploads of User:O3scotto. He has lots of uploads sourced from 'deanguitars.com' and they're tagged as "permission granted". These are just rips of the proshots of the different guitar models on the manufacturers website. I don't believe any valid permission for use is applicable on any of them. The uploader has some "self-taken" tags in there as well. Since the guit pics are likely copyvio lifts from other websites... my "non-AGF" is that they are all heisted and all are PUI's. Thoughts? Have a nice day. 156.34.142.110 16:57, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
I know you're away, and, you know, stay away as long as possible. But our Trey/BB King picture has been deleted. I've been talking with the deleting admin, and it was definitely the right thing to do. The source that was given was, I daresay, inaccurate. I've found the image on a WP mirror, but am still trying to determine the source. We deleted the "Guests" section based on that image, and now we've got a GA review breathing down our necks. If you know the proper source, the image is on my hard drive, and I can re-upload it. — Music Maker 5376 23:48, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:PinocchioTitleScreen.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 02:38, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
