MK2 is the new incarnation of
MK. Unfortunately, this doesn't imply a new improved version; I lost my password information and was unable to retrieve it.
You still won't find any autobiographical information here.
I have no specific areas of expertise. The subjects of the entries I've worked on are usually history or pop culture.
My typical practice here is to wander about and occasionally be inspired to fill in some page that's either empty or a stub. I also often tweak spelling and grammatical errors. I also try to do my share of "janitorial" work such as fixing links.
Due to a cavalier attitude, I often work under anonymous names because I neglected to log in. If you see work by someone whose name starts with 170.215 it's probably me. I also have some work posted under 24.44.35.70 from when I was between usernames.
Here's a list of some articles I've worked on:
Trisha Meili - First entry I worked on. Revised it from a stub.
Attica Prison riots - Added the list of employees who were killed. My contributions were later deleted and the article has become a travesty by people who are clueless.
Ginger Lynn - There was an empty entry listed under Ginger Lynn Allen. I wrote an entry and then someone combined it with the existing entry on Ginger Lynn which I hadn't known about. I then edited the information from the entries into a coherent whole.
Horatio Gates - My first attempt to prove I can compose entries about subjects not found in the tabloid press. There was an entry which consisted solely of a picture of Gates. I added the text.
Rachael Leigh Cook - It was her birthday and she had an empty entry. Plus she's a babe.
Dick Clark - Empty entry with several links to it.
List of multiracial people - Added a lot of information to the list. The exception to my claim above about not getting a lot of revision requests. Controversial subject.
Lester Bangs - Added a mention of the Sterling story.
Carl Richard Jacobi - Wrote this as part of the World Fantasy Awards revisions I was doing.
Ben-Hur - Added the mention of the book's success.
Super Bowl XXXVIII - I don't usually work on current events, but I added some information about this game, including the initial information about the halftime controversy which was later moved to
Super Bowl XXXVIII Halftime controversy.
James Bond - Added the information about the Gardner and Benson books and the parodies. The latter of which was moved to a seperate article,
James Bond parodies.
Chet Huntley - Another one off the Most Wanted list.
Rosario Dawson - I think I'm getting in a pop culture rut.
William Russell - I decided to knock another article off the Most Wanted list. Turns out there are thirteen different William Russells. So I created a disambiguation page and planned to work on individual articles, but I only completed
William Russell (Lord Deputy of Ireland).
Tourism in Argentina - The existing article was being considered for deletion. I expanded it and saved it.
Earth (novel) - The original article came up in Cleanup and VfD. I revised it.
Characters on The West Wing - I started an article originally called "West Wing (characters)". The title was changed to "Characters on West Wing" (I preferred my original title, except it should have been The West Wing). I later found there were duplicate articles "Recurring characters on The West Wing" and "Characters on The West Wing". I combined them into one.
Stanford Prison Experiment - I added a counter-argument. Apparently others disagreed; my comments were gradually revised into oblivion.
Kobe Tai - Added some information that didn't come out of a press kit.
Forever Knight - Expanded the article from a stub and episode list.
Non-standard poker hand - A red link. If it had been my choice, I'd have called it Non-standard poker hands. Only article I've ever written which got linked to the main page.
Hannah Spearritt - A passing reference inspired me to start an article. But subsequent research produced surprisingly little information. The result was a short stub of an article.
A. J. Quinnell - While the author's real name and picture can be found online with enough effort, I decided to honor his request to keep his identity secret.
Eddie Slovik - Wrote the middle section to give the details about his desertion.
Emma Noble - The revision of this article was the first major thing I did under the new username.
Harry Turtledove - Did an extensive revision on the bibliography.
Victor Alexander Charles Crutchley - The existing article for some reason focused entirely on Crutchley's relatively unimportant service as a WWI lieutenant and ignored his significant role as a WWII admiral.
List of Playboy models - I helped switch the format to the table version and added a lot of the information. I then discovered that the article was going to violate a maximum limit on article length so it was split into six seperate articles: List of people in Playboy
1953-1959,
1960-1969,
1970-1979,
1980-1989,
1990-1999, and
2000-Present.
Carrie Ann Inaba - I had planned on doing an article on her a year ago. Then I dropped it when my computer was stolen. I revived the idea when she appeared on "Dancing With The Stars".
Lizzie Jennings - Another article on a figure from a legal case. The article was later completely rewritten by somebody who wanted to make it more dramatic (and who came close to copyright violation).
William Tager - Changed it from a redirect to a short article.
Dead at 21 - I was bored, so I wrote an article off a most wanted list. I saw one mention that this show was related to a contest but I couldn't verify it.
Did some checking in
List of people by name, specifically
K,
I, and part of
N, adding missing dates, descriptions, and correcting minor errors. Slow boring work.
Here's some links I'm putting here so they'll be handy for me:
