Philip Glass composed a set of twenty piano études between 1991 and 2012. [1]
Glass stated that he composed the études “to explore a variety of tempi, textures, and piano techniques” and to become “a better player”. [2] The first six of them were commissioned by Dennis Russell Davies for his fiftieth birthday. [3]
