Mary Newbury Adams (born October 17, 1837), [1]née Sergeant, is an American women's suffragist and advocate of education for the advancement of women known for her work in establishing the Federation of Women's Clubs and the Association for the Advancement of Women. She is recognized as an active participant in the women's suffrage movement in the United States and was a founding member of the first women's suffrage organization in Iowa, the Northern Iowa Woman Suffrage Association.
