Nei is a character in the 1989 video game Phantasy Star II.
Nei received generally positive reception, noted by Phantasy Star II character designer Toru Yoshida as having been more popular among Japanese players than they expected. [1] IT Media staff noted that her popularity continued years after Phantasy Star II. [2] Nei's death was compared to the death of Aerith Gainsborough from Final Fantasy VII, calling it "similarly shocking" and a "huge and upsetting surprise." [3]
