I was born on December 21st sometime ago in a small hospital in a town in central
Sabine Parish. My parents were my Mom and Dad who were much older than me when I was born. I had an older sister who was born before me, but was still younger than my parents. During my early childhood years my parents moved all over Louisiana and dragged me along for the ride; we lived in places like:
Many,
Hornbeck,
Shreveport,
Donaldsonville,
Ruston and
Jena. When I started school I began with Kindergarten and worked my way up from there to the 12th grade. Though I started Kindergarten in Jena I actually finished elsewhere and continued at that school until my graduation at the end of the 12th grade. Upon graduation from HS I started at
Louisiana College as a Freshman and finished my degree there some years later. After graduating College I made the profound discovery that it is absolutely impossible to get a job with a History degree unless some State or Federal Historic Site happens to be hiring persons with a degree in History and so many years experience. Curious, how does one gain experience in History after graduating college, when the only way to get experience is by working at a Historic Site? Being a reenactor doesn't count as experience; volunteering doesn't count. This is a Chicken vs Egg situation... which can possibly come first without the other? But I digress...
Political Thoughts
Ever since Dec of 1986, I have been a registered
Republican; I became one due in no small part to the administration of
President Ronald Reagan.
President Reagan spoke to the values I held dear then (and still do), but over time the
GOP moved away from
President Reagan's brand of
Republicanism, which became very pronounced during the administration of
President George W. Bush.
President Bush seemed to know nothing as to the origins of our
Republic, nor cared to know either when he supposedly quipped that the
Constitution was nothing but, "a g*****n piece of paper."[1]
