Chemical compound
Thulium(III) selenide is an
inorganic compound with the chemical formula Tm2 Se3 .
Preparation
Thulium(III) selenide can be obtained by the reaction of
thulium and
selenium :
[3]
2 Tm + 3 Se → Tm2 Se3
It can also be prepared by reacting
thulium oxide and
hydrogen selenide at high temperature:
[3]
Tm2 O3 + 3 H2 Se → Tm2 Se3 + 3 H2 O
Thulium(III) selenide is also generated in the thermal decomposition of (py)3 Tm(SePh)3 .
[2]
Preparation
In the binary system of thulium(III) selenide and
antimony triselenide , TmSb3 Se6 , Tm6 Sb8 Se21 , TmSbSe3 and Tm8 Sb2 Se15 can be formed.
