Why was the image color changed from green to purple? Green certainly seems more Islamic...

Both are suitable, so I don't really mind which is used. I personally prefer Allah-green.svg because it's a representation of Islamic calligraphy (it employs the
Naskh script, which is a popular style of rendering the Qur'an), and because Allah is the central figure in Islam. But that's my personal preference.
