Jim, I believe those are relegated strictly to the Atlantic Branch, which as you know also serves Long Beach Branch trains at those stations. ---- DanTD ( talk) 14:07, 17 September 2011 (UTC) reply

According to LIRR Branch Timetables there's an Atlantic Terminal BUT no such thing as Atlantic Branch. I think, for our pages to be most helpful for readers, we need to use the LIRR terminology - or at least stick much more closely to it - perhaps limiting our Atlantic Branch to being just the branch between Atlantic Terminal and Jamaica -- JimWae ( talk) 20:07, 17 September 2011 (UTC) reply

Are you sure? Because they use that name here and here, and here too. I was going to add the links to various LIRR History-related sites, but the official sites are so much better. ---- DanTD ( talk) 01:32, 18 September 2011 (UTC) reply

Those sources do seem to support calling the branch between Atlantic Terminal and Jamaica the Atlantic Branch ( note maps & use of "Atlantic Branch (NYC)"). They do not seem to support anything east of Jamaica as being part of any such branch. That would make the Atlantic Branch mostly the section that runs under & above Atlantic Ave. Perhaps it had a diff application in the past, but it appears it just adds to confusion to not update per LIRR Branch Timetables-- JimWae ( talk) 09:46, 18 September 2011 (UTC) reply

Clearly the above stations are NOT "relegated strictly to the Atlantic Branch"-- JimWae ( talk) 09:48, 18 September 2011 (UTC) reply

Then what about this and this? These sites list those stations as being on the Atlantic Branch, even though they serve Far Rockaway Branch trains. It's no different than the Main Line serving Hempstead and Port Jefferson branch trains, or the Montauk Branch serving Babylon, and West Hempstead(in the case of St. Albans) trains. ---- DanTD ( talk) 12:23, 18 September 2011 (UTC) reply
