This WikiProject banner template uses
Module:WikiProject banner, a meta-template for easily creating and maintaining project banners. Please report any errors or feature requests to
Module talk:WikiProject banner. Information or warnings about the template are below:
The 35 task forces and/or work groups will automatically collapse if more than 5 of them are displayed. To change this setting, set or update the |TF_COLLAPSE= parameter.
The 12 notes in this template will automatically collapse if more than 2 of them are activated. To change this setting, set or update the |COLLAPSED= parameter.
Automatic parameter checking is enabled and pages with invalid parameters can be found in the
tracking category.
There are too many task forces to check the assessment categories for each one, so the following selection have been checked: 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 16, 18, 24, 29.
This template is used on
approximately 121,000 pages. To avoid major disruption and server load, any changes should be tested in the template's
/sandbox or
/testcases subpages, or in your own
user subpage. The tested changes can be added to this page in a single edit. Consider discussing changes on the
talk page before implementing them.
The {{WikiProject Japan}} project banner template should be added (notsubst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner.
Usage
Syntax
The full syntax is as follows (please remove any unused parameters):
{{WikiProject Japan|class=|importance=|needs-attention=|needs-infobox=|listas=|pref-photo=|pref-photo-2=|pref-photo-3=|pref-photo-4=|pref-photo-5=|pref-photo-6=|pref-photo-7=|pref-photo-8=|person-photo=|photo=|ainu=|baseball=|bibliography=|biography=|business=|car=|cinema=|CJKV=|culture=|dist-muni=|education=|fauna= OR |flora=|food= OR |drink=|gaijin=|geography=|history=|infrastructure=|law=|milhist=|music=|myth=|owarai=|phototf=|politics=|prefectures=|religion=|royalty=|science=|shinto=|sport=|trains=|transwiki=|tokyo=|update=}}
If a field name is listed in the Prerequisites column, it is a prerequisite for the field to the left.
Parameters
class – a rating of the article's quality; see the
assessment department for more details. Categories and Templates are automatically assessed by this template, and therefore do not need to have the class specified. Options are:
needs-attention - "yes" if the article needs immediate attention for one reason or another. It is strongly encouraged to also add a section to the talk page explaining what needs attention.
needs-infobox - "yes" if the article needs an infobox added to it.
listas - fill in if the article needs to be sorted in categories some way other than using the article title. For example,
Talk:Izumi Takemoto would have this parameter completed using Takemoto, Izumi because the article should be sorted by the family name.
Up to eight prefectures can be specified for locations where a photo might be obtained:
pref-photo and pref-photo-2 through pref-photo-8 - Enter the name of the prefecture (e.g., |pref-photo=Hiroshima) to indicate a photo is requested for this location in Hiroshima Prefecture. Be sure to use correct capitalization (i.e., "Hiroshima" not "hiroshima"). Options include: Aichi, Akita, Aomori, Chiba, Ehime, Fukui, Fukuoka, Fukushima, Gifu, Gunma, Hiroshima, Hokkaido, Hyōgo, Ibaraki, Ishikawa, Iwate, Kagawa, Kagoshima, Kanagawa, Kōchi, Kumamoto, Kyoto, Mie, Miyagi, Miyazaki, Nagano, Nagasaki, Nara, Niigata, Ōita, Okayama, Okinawa, Osaka, Saga, Saitama, Shiga, Shimane, Shizuoka, Tochigi, Tokushima, Tokyo, Tottori, Toyama, Wakayama, Yamagata, Yamaguchi, or Yamanashi.
You can also specify a person or group of people needing a photo, or a generic need for a photo for an article which is not about a person/group or a specific location:
person-photo - "yes" if the article about a person or group of people needs a photo.
photo - "yes" if the article needs a photo, but the article is not about a specific location or a person (or persons in the case of a group)
Task forces
ainu - "yes" if the article falls under the
Ainu task force
baseball - "yes" if the article falls under the
Baseball task force
bibliography - "yes" if the article falls under the
Bibliography task force
biography - "yes" if the article falls under the
