- guid is an internal identifier used in the SAHRA database. It is not being displayed in the template. For example: 556
- SiteReference is the heritage site identifier as defined by SAHRA. For example: 9/2/001/0003
- Site_name is the name of the heritage site. For example: Post Office and Magistrate's Court, Grey Street, Aberdeen
- Magisterial_district refers to the magisterial district the heritage site is located in. For example: Aberdeen
- Municipal_name refers to the name of the municipality. For example: Camdeboo

The HTML markup produced by this template includes an hCard microformat, which makes the place-name and location parsable by computers, either acting automatically to catalogue articles across Wikipedia, or via a browser tool operated by a person, to (for example) add the subject to an address book. Within the hCard is a Geo microformat, which additionally makes the coordinates (latitude & longitude) parsable, so that they can be, say, looked up on a map, or downloaded to a GPS unit.
