... that after bailing out of his aircraft over France, Stanley Browne was able to evade any German soldiers searching for him with the help of local villagers? Source: Lambert, Max (2011). ALT1: ... that Stanley Browne was one of the first pilots to land on
Sicily during
World War II? Source: Shores, Christopher; Williams, Clive (1994). Aces High: A Tribute to the Most Notable Fighter Pilots of the British and Commonwealth Forces in WWII. London: Grub Street. ISBN 1-8-9869-7000. Page 153 , Rawlings, John (1976). Fighter Squadrons of the RAF and their Aircraft. London: MacDonald & James. ISBN 0-354-01028-X. FWIW, I prefer ALT1 but with a suggestion for a slight tweak for context (on a literal reading of ALT1, it is incorrect since Italian/German pilots would have been landing there all the time as Sicily was a base for operations against Malta): Alt1b ... that Stanley Browne was one of the first Allied pilots to land on
Sicily following its invasion by the Allies during
World War II?

Approved for first hook and ALT1b hook. I personally prefer the first hook ("look for the helpers") but both are fine.
