When I think of "Thanos," I think of
the Marvel character instead of your nomination. I think that the hook is misleading by saying "Thanos," as it makes people think that Thanos the Marvel character had involvement in the aftermath of the Yugoslav Wars and started a disco club when he retired. All I think you'll need to do before submitting is to replace the current link text, "Thanos," with "Indradi Thanos." (Do not take this verbatim; remove the period!) Otherwise, you're good to go! Capsulecap: You'll figure out why I use Thanos instead of the full name when you click the "What links here" on this page. --

Some sources seem to refer to him as "Thanos" instead of "Indradi", e.g.
[1]. And besides, since this is an AFD Hook, I have several additional propositions:
ALT1: ... that Thanos owned a disco club? or ALT2: ... that Thanos hunted drug dealers?

Juxlos: Thanos is a family name, btw. And yes, I agree on shorter hooks. --

Comment: The name confusion is a good thing, our goal is to get people to actually click the articles and DYK enshrines the use of hooky hooks like this.

Another drive-by comment: I agree. The name confusion is what makes this hooky. I like ALT1 or ALT2 for the same reason: they are punchier. —

Seconded. No one's going to really think that the Marvel character Thanos owned a disco club or hunted drug dealers. But it makes it hooky, and the people who click through will figure it out pretty quickly.

Alternatively, we could always save this hook for April Fools' day. It's a while from now, but it'd be a good addition.

theleekycauldron, the nominator had already added the nomination to the April Fools' Day page back on August 8, so no need for permission: AFD was requested already by them. I've just moved the entry from Awaiting verification section of the AFD page to the Verified hooks one, and deleted the Approved page transclusion so it isn't promoted before then. I do think that
Capsulecap needs to be clear on which of the three hooks are being approved; nominator
Love and Parting did say they agreed on shorter hooks after Juklos proposed the two ALT ones.

BlueMoonset,
Theleekycauldron, and
Capsulecap: (not pinging any drive-by comments) I'm planning to redo the hook by combining it with a new article. Please give your thoughts regarding this change below:
ALT3: ... that members of the Thanos family served in the army and police?

I don't quite like the way WP:EGG plays out there—how about:
ALT3a: ... that Thanos served in the army, while Thanos was a police officer?
We can add "his brother" is we have to, but i like this more, honestly. What do y'all think?

Theleekycauldron: We really don't know the relationship between the two. It just so happens that they have the last name Thanos.

And personally, ALT3a sounds less April 1-ish.
Love and Parting (

Fair, we can just leave it at ALT3a. As for why i suggested it—most people don't think of Thanos as having a family (being a movie villain), and linking "army" and "police" to Thanoses is a WP:EGG problem, and not in a quirky April Fools' way.
