Gerda: it's a new article, long enough, sourced appropriately, free from copyright issues, etc. I think I like ALT1 – "to not be afraid" – the best. I agree that this would make a great article for Christmas, so I'll approve it for the 25th (preferably) or the 26th. (By the way, this is such a beautiful hymn. We have the ninth stanza in our American hymnals as
"Break Forth, O Beauteous Heavenly Light", with Bach's elegant harmonization as the tune. There's a bit of information about it in
this book: "the monumental figure Bach and the minor figure Schop are therefore linked together in a peculiar polarity of fame".) Let me know when you've done the QPQ. Best regards,
