This template is intended to replace manual boxes which have appeared in a number of suburb and town articles that are part of various Australian city projects and Wikiproject Australian Places. Manual boxes are not only difficult to update and keep updated, but are difficult to locate as they are not linked to anything else on the Wikipedia project.
This box is an overview aimed at suburb/town article readers and is not intended to be used for electorates. Please consult Wikiproject Australian Politics for what is appropriate for such articles.
This template can display the votes in one of two ways - normal mode and short mode.
Normal template (standalone)
{{Australian Politics Suburb
| election =
| elecref =
| party1 = | percent1 =
| party2 = | percent2 =
| party3 = | percent3 =
| party4 = | percent4 =
| party5 = | percent5 = }}
|
Short template (must be part of table)
{{Australian Politics Suburb | type = short
| election =
| elecref =
| party1 = | percent1 =
| party2 = | percent2 =
| party3 = | percent3 =
| party4 = | percent4 =
| party5 = | percent5 = }}
|
election | To which election do these statistics relate? (text or link) Preferred: "2006 state election" or " 2004 federal election" |
elecref | (Optional) Reference for contained data. Can be an external link eg [1], or a footnote using Wikipedia reference tags. Use the latter option sparingly as it tends to clutter the references section of the article if there are more than one or two. |
party# | Code for the party, or the party's name if a code does not exist. Currently recognised codes are:
|
percent# | The percentage of votes, entered as a number with no percent sign, gained in the suburb by the corresponding party - i.e. percent1 is the percentage of votes gained by party1, and so on. |
