At the 2006 census, its population was 3,100 in 8,281 households, when it was a village in
Feshk Rural District of the former Farahan District of
Tafresh County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 3,569 people in 1,038 households,[6] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Farahan County.[7] The village was transferred to Talkh Ab Rural District in Khenejin District. The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 3,681 people in 1,162 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]
After the census, the village was elevated to the status of a city.[4]
