I can see why people can see payments to
Channel 14,
Chabad, and
religious Zionist organisations as "a scandal", but objectively they're not officially "scandals". Unless they were made illegally, or the money itself was made by illegal means, which was either not stated, or maybe smb removed those bits. No smoke, no scandal - as of now.

Accuracy and Encyclopedic content
I work for Mr. Mirilashvili and have declared my COI. Following the previous post by
Arminden, I am asking for the removal of the current Scandal section. The extensive detail included therein is not directly relevant to Mirilashvili; the fact of his investigation is stated clearly and in a neutral tone in the Philanthropy section. In addition, I'm requesting an addition to the Career section as per the following:
SPAR
Mirilashvili acquired a 19.9% stake in the Israeli franchise of
SPAR in 2023, replacing
Shufersal. Mirilashvili reached an agreement with majority shareholder Amit Zeev before Shufersal's announcement.[1]
I disagree. Deri is a top politician. The "Philantropy" text doesn't even hint at the controverse aka scandal, plus as it is, the text is very balanced and "soft". If anything, it's not said explicitly enough why it's a scandal.

Arminden, thanks for taking the time to review. As you pointed out in your November post above, there is no indication of a scandal here. The sources clearly indicate that Mirilashvili was investigated for donations he made to Deri's wife's organization; no wrongdoing was found and no charges were brought. In alignment with
WP:CRITICISM, the information should be included in the article not in a
dedicated section; this content is already appropriately included in the
Philanthropy section of the article.
I also ask that you please consider making the addition of the SPAR information to the Career section.
This
edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.
I am asking to revise the current content in the
Philanthropy section to be more accurate, adhere to
WP:NPOV, and focus the details on Mirilashvili himself. As all the sources state, Mirilashvili was not accused of or found to have committed any crime; that needs to be reflected in the article. This language should replace the current content:
Mirilashvili has made donations to organizations run by Yaffa Deri, wife of
Aryeh Deri. In 2017, Israeli authorities investigated the Deris; Mirilashvili and his father were among 16 prominent Israelis questioned as part of this investigation.[1] In 2018, the police recommended the prosecution of Aryeh Deri; Mirilashvili was found to have done nothing wrong.[2][3]
^"Minister Deri and wife questioned again". Channel 13 (in Hebrew). 5 June 2017. Most of the donors to the organization, including the Georgian-Israeli billionaire Mikhail Mirilashvili and his son Yitzchak, did not know of the uses of their donations and were not involved in any fraudulent actions.
A warning/declaration (added in October 2019) currently appears at the top of this article. I have
declared my COI and am working with the community to comply with Wiki editing regulations. Please consider the removal of this banner.

Quetstar, I made the changes to the philanthropy content based on
FeldBum's
indicated approval on February 6. The content as it appears now, following the reversion, is not
WP:NPOV compliant and introduces excessive information about subjects other than this article. I welcome the community's input in including the relevant information and details. The language of my suggestion presents the facts, as they relate to Mirilashvili himself. Most significantly, the content should reflect that Mirilishavili was not accused of or found to have committed any crime, as supported by the references.

FeldBum, Thank you for getting involved here. I'd be happy to answer any of your questions about this matter. I will point out that while the details of the donations might be "more complicated"- as you indicated, very few of those details relate to Yitzchak Mirilashvili himself, creating a
COATRACK situation. The
opening sentence about the Deri donations in the article suggests that making these contributions was a crime; that is both not true and a violation of
NPOV.
My suggested language removes the excessive Deri details and clearly states the fact that Mirilashvili was only questioned by police, not accused of or found to have committed any crime. All the sourcing provided makes this clear.
Been struggling to get community engagement on this. I have directly revised the language to focus on the article subject and remove the
WP:COATRACK content, adhere to neutrality, and include the facts. Here for further discussion, if necessary.
