Confusion in this 2018 general election resulted in the delayed reporting of absentee ballots from Dona Ana County, the home of this candidate. She conceded, then when she got the most votes, when the absentee ballots came in, her opponent, though now 3,539 votes behind, intimated that fraud was involved in the counting and declined to concede.

Inclusion of “Succeded by” field
I do not believe Xochitl Torres Small’s Infobox should include a “succeeded by” field.
Template:Infobox officeholder states, extremely clearly, that “an incumbent officeholder should not mention an elected or designated successor, or the end date of the term, until the transition actually takes place.“
