There is an audio file placed after the Nahuatl [ʃoːtʃiˈmiːlko], but it does not have the long vowels. Judging from the vowels in the recording and the transcription, it might rather be a Spanish recording. This also poses the question if there is a Spanish pronunciation that has kept the [ʃ] from the Nahuatl loan word. If so, the transcription should be added and the audio should be placed after the correct language. – At the moment I don't feel well enough informed about American Spanish and Nahuatl to make the edit myself. According to the Mexican constitution (art. 44) the Federal District and Mexico City are one and the same thing. Therefore it makes no sense to say that Xochimilco is one of the delegaciones of the Federal District and then that it is located south of Mexico City. Even though it was not part of Mexico City long ago, it has been absorbed by it, and at least administratively, it is part of Mexico City. -- Alonso 03:55, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
This article is much too full of fine detail. Too much detail for an article on a borough in a city. The poster child for this "too much detail" is the religion section, which seems to have a catalog of every religious location in the borough. It makes sense to have an example, but not needed in each and every one in the whole place. WP is not a travel guide. Hires an editor ( talk) 01:53, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

The text calls ahuejote a "juniper" throughout and even links to the juniper article. The ahuejote tree is properly a willow. Please correct. (For the record, I think no or very few species of juniper would tolerate such waterlogged soils) -- Dysmorodrepanis 87.79.83.143 ( talk) 00:56, 18 October 2017 (UTC)
