Can someone expand this article to explain what devices and networks this service is provided on, and maybe explanations of why it is and why it is not on certain devices and certain networks (looking at you AT&T iPhone) 147.31.251.191 ( talk) 20:30, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to 2 external links on
Wireless Emergency Alerts. Please take a moment to review
my edit. If necessary, add {{
cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{

to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Surprised this is not already covered. My guess: no one knows? -- Saledomo ( talk) 01:46, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
I just changed a link from the EBS page to the EAS page. The EBS was replaced by the EAS before WEA was around. Billster156234781 ( talk) 16:26, 9 October 2018 (UTC)
I find it very disturbing that the " presidential alert " that showed up on my cell phone happened during the current ongoing Trump controversies and I have talked to numerous others who feel the same way..I`m surprised there is no mention of it in this article. 2600:1702:2340:9470:5C2D:B73:E11C:B4A3 ( talk) 23:01, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
The name "Commercial Mobile Alert System" is still in use.
I received a test message a few days ago, saying it was from the "Commercial Mobile Alert System". The article presently describes this system as "formerly known as" by that name, citing Ref 1. I went to Ref. 1 which does not mention the name "Commercial Mobile Alert System". That name is not provided in the .pdf version or in the linked background page.
I don't know the best way to edit the article. Maybe another document describes the change in name, in which case that should be added as a reference. Oaklandguy ( talk) 20:01, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
