I've switched it back to the spelling used by his biographer in his book (Christman, Albert B. (1998). Target Hiroshima: Deak Parsons and the Creation of the Atomic Bomb. Annapolis, Maryland: Naval Institute Press.

OCLC38257982.). This follows the form that Parsons used. As far as I can tell, Parsons always spelled it "Deak". (See Christman, pp. 32, 260-251)
