Seeing as this event lists on List of wars and disasters by death toll and lists such a high death toll, it would be appreciated to have more reliable sources for figures. I know academic research on the topic might be hard to come by, but considering that the deaths amount to around 20 times the deaths of the American Civil War I wonder why more information wouldn't be available? Is the fact that the event occurs in Asian history rather than Western history a reason why less academic research would be done on the topic?
